When I need to get a service manual I always order it from Stereomanuals.com . Rick delivers a perfect copy that is as good as the originals and I should know as I worked at Teac service in Arlington Heights IL on Golf Road.

There is either a cam belt that is lose or the flywheel assist can not move the head base due to hardened grease. It needs to be serviced.

These are not real good mechanism and I don't understand the complaint- there are no error codes in such a unit- I have one here now.

It could be belts or internal cam motor contact sensors. The transports that Teac sells are not direct replacements and DO NOT WORK.

I think it is refering to an external control device such as a wired remote. You might try unhooking external connections and then re-hooking them and then booting it back up. Good Luck

There is a mechanism problem in the Pinch Roller part of the deck.It needs to be looked at by a Technician to correct.

Need a new belt to drive the mechanism.

It should work I would think as it uses the same OS. I suspect the hdd has issues it the system doesn't complete its boot.

It is possible the control transistor in the capstan motor has shorted due to age. There is a control in the deck for calibration of speed but then you need equipment and a MXT111 test tape to set the speed. So you may need a new Capstan motor or maybe just an adjustment- hard to say exactly without me looking at it- yes, I still fix them. I have been doing them for about 45 years and I worked at Teac as a Lead Tech in Arlington Heights IL.
