I locked the rear hatchback by putting a hook into the lock, now I can't get it to unlock.

    I locked my hatchback lock by accident and now I can't close the hatchback. I did this by pushing a bunggee cord hook in to it. Thanks, John.

Have someone activate the lock mechanism while at the same time, you try to open the latch assembly lever. Unless you have bent something in the lock assembly with the bungee cord hook, this should work.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. It may be your latch actuator. Go ahead and check your #10 fuse and #18 relay first though.

    I didn't know you couldn't close it John. There is a switch in the middle of the hatch, where the hatch locks. All you need to do is push it over and it will shut.

Read manual. It should direct you to location where you can manualy unlock hatch. Look for little trap door. It should be located very near lock.

Locks and hatchback
Open the rear inside cover and you will see where the keeper for the handle mechanism may have broken. You can get this from any part store. It is difficult to get in there but a small hand can open it for better access.

Latch on hatchback locked in the closed position
The fault sounds like its the catch at fault, I would recomend replacing, if you can open tgailgate, operate the unlock funcion using key and try and move the catch position
