Head bolts torque settings

According to my haynes manual for G-S reg, 1989-1998 it goes as follows,
Stage 1:- Tighten all bolts by hand until bolt heads just contact cyl. head.
Stage 2:-Tighten all bolts to 40Nm or 30lb ft.
Stage 3:-Angle tighten all bolts a further 60 degrees.
Stage 4:-Angle tighten all bolts again a further 60 degrees.
Stage 5:- M12 x 140mm bolts ONLY angle tighten a further 20 degrees.
Hope this helps everyone, sorry it seems longwinded but that is how it's written in the manual.

I have a 1995 discovery 1 and the central locking does not work on any doors when the key is turner in the door, all the fuses are fine, i am going to check the ecu but does anyone know which wire doe

Here is a central locking diagram - but be warned - they are not all the same.as this. Depending on the model, Discos mostly have the control units as integral components of the front door actuators. The back door units are just slaves Remove the side panel under the foot-well so you can get at the wiring loom. also remove the front door trims to get at the actuators, then test the wires going through the doors with an ohmmeter to ensure continuity - it would not be the first time a broken wire caused all of the system to fail. In other words, do the simple things first central lock diagram-sghjxjsr3ibifbgb3sm4bcad-3-0.jpg

My land rover discovery 1 1995 won't start i get

You need a noid light for that but since they are all not firing it's most likely the cam shaft position sensor. That tells the computer the cam shaft position so it knows when to pulse each injector. Let me know if that's it. The cam shaft sensor should be pretty cheap.

I have the stereo wired up in my 1995 landrover

Sound like the Eurovox unit. Regardless, determine the make and model number of the radio/CD unit and do a GOOGLE search for that unit. I don't remember the site but there are several that will supply a wiring diagram for that model. You already know you can spend hours trying to find a fault like that one - a specialist installer (NOT a Land Rover dealer) will probably fix it for less than $50

. 1995 disco is a hard start in winter when the temps approach low 30's. Blue gas vapors come out the tailpipe. plugs were changed. runs fine in summer. coolant temp sensor?

I think your engine may have a cold start injector and timer. Check if this is so. Coolant temp sensor acts as a choke and will supply extra fuel when cold, but if you have fuel coming out of exhaust I suspect weak spark= check coil and module, plugs and wires

MY dISCOVERY 1995 3.9 IS

95 model is injected,so the easiest area to check first is the thermostat. This controls the engine heat and if stuck open or missing the ECU will get a cold reading and run the injectors rich. Also get the timing checked. Is it running on a running in oil or has it been changed now to the correct spec.
Also ensure that the sensors by and on the thermostat housing are connected and to the correct plug.Check to ensure that the sparkplugs are ok as rich running can choke them up and make hard starting.Check the air filter,if dirty it restricts the airflow. Also the airflow meter can get dirty, there is a suitable sensor cleaner that is available.dont be tempted to use any other solvent.I hope this helps,if not get back with some more info and will try to diagnose further.

This switch is located on the inside of the hood on the fire wall; just push it down. Anytime the vehicle is hit/over tilted/turnover, it kicks the Inertia switch off.
