Make sure battery has a full charge and battery connections all good. The basic tests for, it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the spark plugs. If spark everywhere, use a gage and check proper fuel pressure. Also check fuel injector pulse
Have you had the battery disconnected?
everything you mention indicates a failing starter motor. Pull it and have it bench tested by an accredited auto electrician as they can be repaired if the failure is not to bad.
does the unit crank after it fails? I would check all of my battery connections you may have a loose ground either at the battery or at the engine. You may also have a bad starter relay located un the fuse panel under the hood
why does the reduced power light come on , then the truck stalls. If you pull over and shut down the engine and wait a 30 secounds the truck will restart and run fine until the next time you start the truck. The truck has 48k miles
2005 Colorado 4x4 stick shift – I had the same thing happen and it had to do with the passlock system – it will keep your truck from starting for approximately 10 minutes, yes you will have to wait and let it sit- if you try to start it will just turn over forever. On my truck the solution was to change my starting procedure, I now keep the truck in neutral-turn the key all the way for a few seconds and then push in the clutch- it starts every time. If you have an automatic I don’t know..
Clean all the electrical connections you can get to under the hood with automotive electronics cleaner, dry with compressed air and pack each connector with di-electric grease.
