Location crank shaft sensor 1.8 petrol zafira

To locate the crankshaft sensor the starter has to be removed. Yes you read it right! The starter has to be removed.
Starter removal: Two bolts hold the starter in place having 13mm bolt size heads. The bottom bolt has an editional earth cable attached to it.
Removing the top bolt is a bit of a struggle, a flat 13mm spanner with slight bend does the trick for when working from under the car.

With the starter removed, find a smallish hole about 50mm diameter in the block. Thats the location of the three pronged crankshaft sensor. The wire attached is unclipped from the metal plate and then removed from the block using a 5mm ellen key to remove the bolt holding the crankshaft sensor in position.

Do not worry about the bolt coming seperated from the crankshaft sensor. The bolt has a design preventing the bolt from falling out of the crankshaft sensor housing.
