There is always the chance of getting a voltage spike when jump starting a car, can fry the computer . Fit a new battery. If the sulfer smell is still there a tune up will fix it as the fuel mixture is out. Check the oxygen censer is working as this fine tunes the fuel air ratio .

You have a bad battery and it needs to be replaced. The rotten egg or sulfer smell is coming from the acid in the battery. I would not continue to jump the vehicle as the battery could explode.

2006 chevy colorado fuel system diagram I need help diagnosing the problem of the gas smell coming from my truck. No leaks...but a very strong gasoline smell...please help me out!

The Chilton/Haynes repair manual we got for our 2004 Trailblazer has a fuel diagram. So I believe the same type manual for your Colorado should be no different as to information. Did find in research that there are plastic parts on the fuel lines that run under the air intake. Over time they become brittle due to engine heat since they are on top of engine but under the plastic air tube and are prone to leak over time. Not hard to fix, just a pain to remove the interfering parts.

I have a 12 tundra TRD..I just pulled in and I could smell that sulfur smell coming from my fan and the fan keeps running...after I shut the engine off..where do I start

The fan will continue to run until the coolant sensor reaches a predetermined point. The sulfur smell should be from the catalytic converter.

Car will not start without a jump and there is a smell of sulfur coming from front of car.

Julia
The car will not start because your battery is now faulty. The bad smell from the front of the car is the battery overheating. Being able to jump start the car off another battery is indicative of a bad battery in this case..

The battery is emitting hydrogen sulfide (H2S) gas and you will also find corrosion on your battery terminals.

When the battery is replaced , as it now must be, it is very important to to check the entire charging system on the vehicle.

Your alternator or voltage regulator may be faulty and it is important to ensure the charging system will not start over charging the new battery once it is fully charged.

How to replace the head gasket on a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado

Your heads may not have to come off, you have worn valve stem oil seals, some mechanics have the gear to change your stem seals without removing your heads, this is a massive save in labour costs

The sulfuric odor may be too much fuel, a rich condition caused by too much fuel pressure, bad regulator or no vacuum to the regulator . Bad O2 sensor , linked return line , stuck open injector pintles etc. .
