Ah 2 posts, now with some more facts.
is this USA car????? now with correct car name.
24valve valve what/? v6

Does engine get to normal operating temp? this is first.
always for ever and ever ! does it? 180F + is NORMAL
is it ? if not BINGO, see why?
the ECU run in 3 modes, cold ,warm, hot. so........
so , cant help you if you cant at least know temperatures.
you make this so hard, no known what is under the hood
asking me to lookup every 24v isuzu engines. pain.
my guess is V6 (4 x 6 =24)
which one, 6VD1 or D1w? not the GM engine but a real ISUZU
V engine, 6vD1, and that matter for fueling and well, ALL that.
3.2L or 3.5 , in 1999.

1999 Isuzu Rodeo, high idle problem. - 26231618-4g1iytzfkimywqjfw30jhjyb-3-0.jpg P0161, is O2 bad or wires to it.
bank2, sensor 2 heater is burned out, easy no>?
and not your idle reasons.
now 442

- Missing or loose fuel cap ??????????????? bingo?
- Incorrect fuel filler cap used
- Fuel filler cap remains open or fails to close
- Foreign matter caught in fuel filler cap
- EVAP canister or fuel tank leaks
- EVAP system hose leaking
- Fuel tank leaking
again not cause of high idle.
so how long was the CEL glowing, for years?
ignore 442, or make gas cap tight.
ignore 161, its not used for FUELING ever.
so again, back to square one

  1. what country USA? or Canada?
  2. what engine, 3.2 or 3.5 V6, always know this for 100 time better help,,,, no really.
  3. is engine reaching 180f coolant temp or not.
  4. if it is, they you have vacuum leaks (complex topic that i do not cover here any more,,,, )
  5. ISC stuck open, or iAC stuck open from gunk in the valve.
  6. throttle valve stuck open with gunk or no slack in cable.
  7. more, lots more why not get a shop in the loop.

Is a 1999 isuzu rodeo sport 2wd v6 auto trans idle air replacement valve interchangeable with a 1999 isuzu amigo sport

double posted why, ? please add to 1 post,
by edits or comments, please'
there are 3 , v6 engines, you never said which
why ask us, about parts, we dont sell parts
and would have to read the same books on parts as you
why ask use to do that.?
here is the list
USA only, RODEO, prime examples. the GAS v6 engines. 3.1L 3.2L 6vd1 SOHC, one cam per head, then the optional... 6vd1w DOHC, 2 cams in one head, w = DOHC optioned heads, then came... 3.5L (a stroked out, 3.2L.) 6ve1 are all DOHC engines. and have 24 valves. (6x4) with 2 rear cam sensor, used for VVT and spark both,
the engines must match ,to mix parts

here im at isuzu.com parts page
note it changed on August 99, mfg build dates. so.....
tricky
this will not cause low MPG
it will cause idle controls to be dead.
why not post all symptoms, first. and stop guessing?

Does iac valve have anything 2 do with a/c

The idle air control valve -- also known as the idle speed control valve -- regulates the idle speed of your engine. This is controlled by the engine's computer. Sometimes parts go bad, which results in your car idling strangely or stalling. This article will tell you how to check an idle air control valve.
See if the "check engine" light is on. If it is, use an OBD II scanner (PepBoys or other do it for free) to retrieve the codes if the car is 1996 or newer.

Need to get a can of gumout and with it idling spray around the top of the upper plenum to see if you have a vacuum leak if you have a leak it will either idle up slightly or kill the engine very very common on the 3.0 Taurus ,little more information would be helpful like how many miles are on the car

2001 isuzu trooper code 1340

Hello,
A 1340 error code for your Isuzu Trooper means that the engine is experiencing a "Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction" which would mean the computer isn't exactly sure where the camshaft is located in it's rotation. If the issue is intermittent then look for a broken wire, if it's solid then the sensor needs replacing!
Good Luck & please rate this solution!

High idle problem

HIGH IDLE COULD BE ACCELERATOR CABLE BINDING PULLING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL OR YOU HAVE VACUUM LEAK AT THROTTLE BODY GASKET.WHERE GASKET COULD CRACK SPLIT APART THROTTLE MOUNTING BOLTS LOOSE OR YOU COULD HAVE FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE.IN WHICH IT WILL CAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO FLASH.

99 rodeo check engine light is on.

No...the fuel sending unit is not a computer driven item nor is it monitored in any way by the onboard computer system. Interface with scanner and retrieve code(s) associated with indicator lamp occurrance

2000 isuzu 3.2 rodeo

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
