Chevy Venture Turns on but shuts off

Our 2004 Chevy Venture will turn on but won't stay on at idle. It will stay on as long as I'm giving it gas, so it drove well enough to get home. Tried cleaning & even replacing the mass air flow sensor which did nothing.

SOURCE: idling around 2000 rpm but if i turn it of and restart it a few times it goes back to normal idle speed. don't know what's causing it

Hello
The Engine and Automatic Transmission (not applicable to manual transmissions) in this vehicles drive train are fully electronically controlled by a computer called the PCM and TCM (Power Train Control Module, Transmission Control Module). When a problem like this or other drive-ability related problems occurs the computer stores a record of the problem (there are of course some exceptions to this, like the fuel pump, engine coolant temperature sensor and MAF sensor for instance) in the form of a fault code in its memory, to read these fault codes you must have the systems memory scanned with a special tool. Once the fault code(s) are read you then must perform the appropriate diagnostic testing to find and resolve the problem(s) DO NOT REPLACE ANY PARTS UNTIL A TRAINED TECHNICAIN HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO AVOID SPENDING YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON PARTS THAT MAY NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. Also always check fuel pressure for correct spec for your make and engine type.

SOURCE: 2000 Chevy Venture will not start. Drove it home and shut it off. Hit the unlock button and nothing. I tried to start it again and nothing. Radio won't come on, dinger won't sound....nothing.

I would check to make sure your battery cables are tight.

Why does oil turn pinkish on chevy venture 2002

Is it synthetic blend? I've never heard of regular oil ever turning pink, not even when contaminated with other fluids. Have it looked at by someone. If it's synthetic, maybe it's normal?

98 chevy cavalier turns over but won't start

i know industry jargon can be confusing, but lets try this. if it turns over but won't start, it could be your ''ignition module'' that sits on top of the vave cover on the motor or it might be the fuel pump or filter. make sure when you crank the engine that the key is all the way turned or it may not always make a proper contact to activate the ignition module. iv'e seen this before & had to change the ignition switch & all worked ok after that. i would need to know engine lt size to give you more details on the matter. please get back to me.

2002 chevy venture not starting, fuel pump not working security light is on. is this the pass lock or maybe something else?

YEP IF YOU SEE SECURITY LIGHT FLASHING YOUR CAR IS IN THEFT SECURITY MODE WHICH WILL SHUT DOWN FUEL SYSTEM. HAVE VECHICLE CODE SCAN PROBLEM IN THE BCM MODULE.IT WILL TURN OFF FUEL IF IGNITION KEY HAS IN CORRECT RESISTANCE OR KEY WORN OUT.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE FACTORY IGNITION KEYS.DONT GO TO HARD WARE STORES GET EXTRA KEYS MADE.BECAUSE IF BCM ECM AND IMMOBILIZER CANT READ KEY CODE RESISTANCE WHICH NOT IN A REGULAR KEY IT WILL SHUT DOWN FUEL SYSTEM AND CAR WILL GO IN THEFT SECURITY MODE.YOUR PROBLEM IS DEALERSHIP FIX.
