I installed a new a/c compressor on a 91 geo

The compressor's oil is mixed with and circulates with the refrigerant. R134a refrigerant can be purchased with or without oil mixed into it. There are also separate oil 'chargers' that inject oil without the refrigerant.

Passanger head light is dim all the time

Clean up the ground wire, should be black and fasten to your radiator support near the light. If this doesn't work replace the light plug in. Use shrink tube to cover your wire joints instead of tape, it does a better job of keeping water out of your splice.

Your timing belt may have jumped ahead when it could have lost some teeth off of the belt. Check belt and replace if needed.

Ignition timing for 1991 Pontiac Firefly or 1991 Chevrolet Sprint or 1991 Geo Metro

for 1991 geo metro 1.0 liter 3 cyl engine the timing is 6 degrees before top dead center. you will need a tachometer because the rpm must be 800 when you set the timing. also you will need to disconnect the vacuum advance to the distributor, and plug the hose to avoid a vacuum leak. (alternate method is to pinch the vacuum advance hose going to the distributor while you are setting the timing) Good Luck!

Not picking up speed

Need more information for this problem. But here are some things to check: is the accelerator cable working properly, can you rev the engine by hand under the hood, can you hear the electric fuel pump working, This might be a fuel pressure problem. jeb

My 91 geo wont start

The coil can be checked by measuring the resistance between the primary terminals, should be 1.33-1.55 ohms. Also check the resistance between the positive primary terminal and the high tension lead, should be 10.7-14.5 k ohms. Hold the spark plug wire (I usually use an old plug inserted into the bood). about 1/4 to 3/8 inch away from the block while cranking and see what kind of spark you get. If you get a good spark, look for something else. jeb

Where to fill gear oil in manual 5 speed 1990 geo lsi

It should be the same place as a 1991 Metro, on the back side of the transaxle there is a plug that takes a 15/16 wrench to remove. the plug faces the drivers side tire. If oil drips out when you remove the plug it is full. Otherwise use your finger to see if you can touch the oil. Fill with some type of syringe. jeb

Gas or Oil shock & Struts

pressurized fluid or gas is one in the same, gas shocks give a harsh ride but better handling, standard shocks are not pressurized they are just a simple hydraulic dampener, when you go over a bump fluid is pulled back and forth through a fixed orfice, this stops spring oscillations in the suspension.

Lugnut stems

As for the rear lug nut studs. Remove the drum by taking the dust cap and the nut off. Once the drum is off lay it down studs up and just give the studs 2 or 3 good hits with a hammer. They should just pop out. To install is just the oposite. Flip the drum over and put it on 2 blocks of wood. 2 2 X 4's worked for me. Put the stud into the hole and using a punch and a hammer, tap the stud into place. should take 2 or 3 good hits. And incase you are wondering what type of lug nut stud to get the stud is a 10 X 1.25. Hope that helps you.
