KNOWING ABOUT CONDENSER

What is a condenser?
Is a device or unit used to condense vapor into liquid. A condenser is simply one component of an air conditioner. Whether you have an outdoor air conditioner or a window unit air conditioner your air conditioner contains a condenser.
Condensers are used in outdoor air conditioning systems as well as heat pump systems. Condensers in an air conditioning unit have very few controls. They will have an on and off switch. Occasionally these air conditioners will also have a brown out option. This option shuts down the compressor when the electrical current is low.
A condenser is simply a heat exchanger. It compresses refrigerants into a hot gas to then condense them into a liquid. A condenser is a major component in a air conditioning or heat pump unit. It moves air across the coils to facilitate the transfer of heat.
In a heat pump unit the condenser has a few more features. It will have a reverse valve that allows the unit to switch back and forth between air conditioning and heating. Even when the unit is heating, it uses the condenser for defrosting the coils. If the coils become layered with frost it will effect the units effectiveness this is defrosted when the reverse valve switches to air conditioning mode to move the hot gases through the coils melting the built up ice. It will automatically switch back to heating mode once the ice is cleared to once again heat the home.
To keep your unit in good operating condition it is vital to keep the area around the condenser clear of all debris as well as keeping the filter clear of dust and dirt. A clean machine makes a happy machine. A happy machine will keep you cool during the summer months and warm during the cold months. It is suggested to change the units filters when they become dirty, depending on your area and conditions near your home this may be as often as once a month or as seldom as every 3 to 6 months. You will have to pay close attention to your units needs to decide the right time to change or clean your unit’s filters.
It is very important no matter what type of unit you have to prevent the blockage of the condenser. If the condenser becomes block it can effect the units efficiency or even cause the until to completely fail. For this reason it is one of the most important components of a cooling or heating system. A condenser allows the maximum airflow to the unit.
Keeping you condenser in good running condition will not only prolong the life of your heat or cooling system but also provide you with the most efficient heat and cooling system saving you money on heat and cooling.www.victorwod1234.blogspot.com

6 beeps on km500mah ice machine. Starts to fill unit and when it switches to compressor mode, the system stops and 6 beeps.

Hi, this is one of the largest ice machines that Hoshizaki make, with the remote air cooled condenser on the roof. As far as the code of 6 beeps, and the compressor starts and stops, you should have a error chart on one of the panels that tells you what the 6 beeps means, a dirty condenser up top that is shutting the unit off on high head or what. You need to find this code error chart, and it will direct you to the point of the problem. I have the service hand book buried in mt service van, so that's not much help.Try and check the remote condenser for a dirty coil, as the is is where you condenser fans and coil are located. It may lust need to be serviced If you have access to nickel safe ice machine cleaner and the unit has not been cleaned in awhile, this I find to be about 80% of problems with these machines. You can by a gallon at a appliance parts house or a/c parts house to clean it up. Some you will nee to do by hand, as they get slimmed up really bad and thing quit working. If you are not tied into a water softener , this is really hard on the machine. Try and look at the fans and coil up top and get the nickel safe flip the switch to the cleaning cycle, and start cleaning. This should take care of that problem. Please rate me , and be kind as I know you will and I will be here to help you. Use my user name below.

My refrigerator had started getting warm and the freezer stopped freezing.

Check the following:
1) Door seal gaskets for any wear and leaking - You can use the dollar bill trick between the base and the seal, close on it and try pulling out the bill, you want a little resistence - if the bill comes out easily your gaskets are not tight. (although this sounds like unlikely in your case)

2) Condensers at the back of your unit or at the bottom - using a condenser brush and vacuum cleaner, get rid of any excess dust - if your condensers are covered with excess dust your unit will not get rid of the heat efficiently and cause excess runtime on your compressor and it will take much longer to cool.

3) shut off your unit and remove the back panel of your freezer, look for excess frosting on the evaporator coils - using a blow dryer, manually defrost the evaporator and surrounding areas until everything is clean. Put the panel back and turn the unit on for a couple of hours, then check the cooling - if it returns to normal then you have a defrost problem and will need to have your control board serviced and check for the defrost timer components. Also make sure the evap fan is working and spinning normally. You also want to check your condenser fan at the bottom of your unit (if applicable, if you have condensers at the bottom).

If all else fails you will need to have service check your charge levels on your compressor and locate leaks if applicable - but the most common causes are defrost problems so check this one first.

Making noise and not cooling properly , when you open the door the noise comes to a stop like the fan slowing down

Your unit isn't defrosting. Your fan blade is hitting the frost that is built up in the back of your unit. All Samsung units are made when you open the door that the fan stops. You can check this but finding your door switch and see if the sound still continues. But you will need service and a part to fix this unit. Where are you located? We are the master tech company for Samsung in the Charlotte, NC area.

Amana Cooling Condensing Unit fan stops spinning after 15 mins

Capacitor, dirty condencer coil causing the motor amps to run too high. But most likely worn bearing on blade side of motor causing it to pull to one side causing it to over heat and shut down. Sleve bearings should have no side play.
