Try to check first battery terminal it may have loose contact which do not have supply to the circuit.just also considered the battery check if it is need new replacement. now after you check battery terminal and as well as the battery test it with in your tv unit if it is now working. if still doesn't work you can check your remote control through digital camera. turn on your digital camera set to camera mode now point the remote control to the digital camera and press any button look at the screen of the camera if their is a light which means your remote now is good. the problem is with in your tv IR sensor either defective or no supply.good luck thanks.

My matsui tv 28WNO5(A) will not turn on from standby

Try pressing the small reset button on the back, it works, and you will not loose any stored information which caused the unit to go in the stand by mode.

or
Have you tried turning it off for an hour and then turning it back on. This happens to me quite often and leaving it off for a while ususally allows it to come back on. Also have you tried to press the TV/AV button on the remote as sometimes it switches to TV mode when its on standby and then standby won't work as its on TV mode and needs to go back on to AV mode. Basically just press the AV button on the digibox remote and then try standby.

or
if the batteries are removed and left for about 20 minutes before being replaced again, everything works as it should.
or
if any of the above suggestions does not work then you have to open the unit and on the main board of the tv there is a thin mini tube light like component called fuse you will have to replace that fuse .the fuse is very very cheap and you can easily get it at any electronics shop.and if still the unit does not work then there is a major fault in the power supply board and should be taken to the service center for diagnosing the fault that it is repairable or not.but i hope the above information provided will definately help you to solve your problem.

My phillips 60 inch tv 60pl9200d/37 wont turn on the power button flashes blue

Look in the manual. (Page 4)

Turn the TV on From main supply: Ensure that the main supply is turned on. A blue indicator light on the front of the TV lights up. When the TV is turned on by the main supply, the blue indicator light will blink for 45 seconds. This is the lamp's start-up period. When the light goes off, press the POWER button on the remote control or power switch. Press POWER to turn on the TV.

I have a hitachi 50 "plasma that was given to me

First do you see a light indicating that the TV has power? There are two power buttons on the TV (the main power and the regular power button). The red standby light will light up when the main power switch is on. This indicator is just to the left of the remote I/R sensor. You can find the main switch on the bottom front of the tv (it is under the tv forward of the stand). Turn on the Main power if it is not on. Then try the power button on the control panel of the TV again.

Does the standby light change color or blink? (Red is standby, orange is power savings (no signal), blue is on.) If the main switch is on and the standby light doesn't come on, the TV has a problem at the power supply. Try unplugging the unit for a bit (at least 30 seconds) and then plugging it back in. This will reset the internal circuitry. If you see a blinking light, then the TV is reporting a self-test failure. I do not know the codes for this model Hitachi Plasma TV.

The manual for the Hitachi P50H401 TV is available from Retrevo: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Hitachi-P50H401-TVs-manual/id/1233ci869/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the pdf.

I'm assuming you don't have one of the special versions that were intended for large audiences that were only controlled by remote (no control keys on the front of the TV). Remotes.com has the original remote or a substitute remote if you need it. See http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&uuid=13104063628240&smodel=P50H401&brand_pn=HITACHI_P50H401 .

I hope this helps.

How do you do a mackro for turning on several devices

The owner's manual give excellent instructions on how to do this.
You can find the owner's manual at the website for Universal Remote Control.

http://www.universalremote.com/downloads.php#professional

A basic overview:
  1. Enter macro setup mode.
  2. Select the button you want to put the macro on.
You can save the macro on almost any of the main buttons or 400 "soft" buttons.
  3. Push the buttons you want to record (main-TV-power on-main-cable-power on-main-audio-power on-....etc.)
  4. when finished press the Light button on the side of the remote and Save.

Can't program emerson tv control volume or to turn it off.used all codes.not working.all other controls work. Thanks, ladybrd

If this is a new Emerson flat panel lcd tv from Walmart, there is a chance that the remote just wont work. I've had problems with these Emerson's often with all dish network remotes. you can try doing a search on the remote itself though. Turn your tv on manually, then push the tv button on the remote and hold it until it flashes, then hit the tv power button on the remote, then push the up arrow button continuously (not to fast though) until the tv turns off and then push the # button (below the 9 button) and the remote should work. There are some new tvs' that these remotes just wont program. I hope yours works.

TV will not come on with remote or power button

The following instructions are for the Emerson EWC1303/1903 tv/vcr. That's the closest match I could find to the Spongebob Squarepants 13' TV
If it's actually in Sleep mode, do the following:

TO CANCEL THE SLEEP TIMER
Press the WAKE UP/SLEEP button on the remote
control until “SLEEP TIMER” appears.
To view the time left for sleep timer press the WAKE
UP/SLEEP button twice, then press the MENU button
on the remote control to exit the sleep timer setting

If unsuccessful, try unplugging the TV for 1/2 hour, then plug it in and try turning it back on either manually or with the remote. Either of these should solve your problem. Best of luck to you!

Remote Control

From GUEST: I found this solution in the manual and will perform this task again to see if I can get the tv will be re-recognized again. Give this a try, too.

Remote will not turn on or shut off the TV.
• You must program the converter box remote in order to control your TV power button.
• To program the remote control:
    1. Determine if the TV is a model that can be controlled by the remote control. See "Controllable TV brands" on page 17 in the manual.
    2. Turn on the TV.
    3. While you press and hold TV POWER on the remote control, press CH ^ or CH v one or more times until the TV turns off. Each time you press one of these buttons, the remote control sends a manufacturer code (between 1 and 45) to the TV.

Tv turns on and off

My JVC 35 " AV 35750 toggled on/off non-stop too.

Fix for me: Unplug TV. Trace cables from on/off switch to main circuit board. I unplugged the cable at that point to eliminate the the on/off button and remote control sensor. Applied power to the TV and my TV stopped cycling on/off so I figured the problem was probably not on the main circuit board but with the push button/ remote control sensor board. I again removed power from the TV and plugged the cable back in to the main circuit board. I then applied power back to my TV to verify my symptom, but when I did this, the TV worked fine again.

Many times resetting circuit board connectors will clear electrical problems.
