IBM Wheelwriter 30 Series II Since changing

Have removed and replaced, ribbon and correction tape, taken them apart, put them back together, replaced them in typewriter - several times. They all seem to fit together properly and I have changed the tapes many times before without a problem. Am wondering if correction tape holder is too long on the side pieces and maybe I could scrape a bit of it off to make the side pieces that fit against the ribbon container shorter.
