IBM Wheelwriter 70 series ii I changed the ribbon - no problem. Now when I'm trying to correct, only some of the ink comes off. Did I do something wrong? I hope you can help! Martha

SOURCE: Replaced Part No. 1337765 and 1380999, but there is still no ink coming out

It sounds like th4e plastic cap on the print solenoid plunger is broken. The part is avail. but a little tricky to replace.

SOURCE: put new ribbon cartridge in ibm wheelwriter 3 not printing now

If the ribbon is lifting up you probably have a cracked print solenoid plunger cap. They are available but a little tricky to install.

Three beeps and the space lights blinking means the batteries are bad replace them and be sure the holder is clean.

Move the grey lever on the R. side of the carrier to the R. and remove correction tape, try the machine, if it seems to work OK install a new correction tape.

SOURCE: needing bold typing on IBM Wheelwriter 6 Series II

To get bold you need a WW 10, 15, 1000, 1500 or any of the later models have this faeture.

Will only type half a letter

See if letter is on the ribbon correctly full character or half, could be ribbon feed or the IBM have locks that hold the platen (RUBBER ROLLER) in place , I think they were blue squeezze parts on each side may they have come up and the platen is not seated properly.

The ribbon may not be fully seated on the ribbon deck. The blue latch has to hol it in place.

Hi, I have an IBM Wheelwriter 30 Series II. When I type text it does not type the bottom 20 % of letters. I changed the ribbon and made sure that the roller was securely locked down. Any suggestions? ...

yes in the carrier ribbon there is a adjustment of ribbon to fix it up and down.
take out the ribbon.
see the cam from where the ribbon carrige lift up.
in side that cam a adjustable screw from that screw you can adjust the ribbon hight.

rub your finger over the ribbon if no ink on fingers then your ribbon is dry little solution for old ribbons is cotton and little water over ribbon not too much
