Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console Logo
Anonymous Posted on May 18, 2011

Sold the unit to a gamer who used the audio/video jack. He then said all he got was a white screen; but am not sure if he meant after he used it for a while or what. Took it to a PC repair novice, who knew nothing about PS3s. Before I took it there, the unit worked with an HDMI cord. After getting it back--where the tech guy determined the audio/video jack was burned out, but the unit did not run hot-- it then no longer worked with an HDMI cord. ( The tech guy made no repairs.) Someone told me to reset it, but I don't know how. The unit was only used a few times before I sold it. It was part of a bundle deal from Best Buy.

Thanks, that worked. The PS3 now works using both the HDMI cord and the A/V cord.

Thanks, that worked. There was nothing wrong with the A/V jack or the HDMI jack. I reset it to try the HDMI cord, reset it again to try the A/V cord, and reset it back for the HDMI cord. Everything works now as it should.

How to add external rca jacks to the output

To connect your audio receiver to your Proview 3200 flat screen TV, you can use RCA cables. Here are the steps:

Locate the RCA jacks on your TV and audio receiver. One jack is white, and the other is red.
Plug the white RCA cable into the white jack on the TV and the red RCA cable into the red jack. Reversing them will cause the stereo signal from the TV to be incorrect.
Take the other end of the RCA cables and plug the white and red ends into an available RCA input on the back of your audio receiver.
If your TV doesn't have RCA jacks, you can use a digital-to-analog audio converter to connect your TV to a 5.1 audio system that has only RCA inputs 1. You can follow these steps:

Unbox the digital-to-analog converter.
Connect the optical cable to the converter.
Connect the RCA cable to the converter.
Connect the other end of the RCA cable to an available corresponding analog audio input on your audio receiver

I can't get a picture on my Phillips TV. The screen shows one of two figures. Either AV1 or SVHS. Could be AVI. Help!!!

Hello,

Use the RCA cord to do the connection. RCA is Yellow white and red wires. Yellow stands for video, while red and white stands for audio left and right.

Connect the yellow to Video IN, at the back of your Philips TV, then connect the red and white to audio in respectively at the back of the TV.

Now connect the other part/end to the cord to Video and audio Out on the other unit (DVD/Receiver, etc.)

Turn on your TV and the other unit, Press Source/AV (once or twice depending on the input) and there should be a display on your TV.....

If the above is not what you meant, please let me know...

Good luck.

Don't know how to connect to tv

If the TV has audio output available, there will be RCA jacks somewhere for that. The standard colors are red for the right channel and white for the left, and they'll be clearly marked as audio outputs. Not all sets have audio outputs, though, while they usually have audio and video inputs. So if you find RCA jacks on the set be sure to see how they are marked.

If the TV has output jacks, all you need is a cable with the appropriate plugs at each end. The TV needs RCA plugs, while the input connector to the speakers varies by manufacturer. Typically the speakers will use a 1/8-inch stereo jack if they were made to be used with a computer, and RCA jacks if they were meant to be used in a home-theater setting. In TV sets with audio outputs, the output may be fixed and independent of the TV volume, which means you can turn the TV volume down and use just the external speakers. Or the audio output may vary with the TV volume, meaning you'll always need to have the TV volume on as well. Some people find this annoying.

If the TV doesn't have an audio output available, you can't hook the speakers to the TV. What most people do in that case is use the TV as a video display in conjunction with an AV receiver. The audio and video sources connect to the receiver, which in turn drives the speakers and provides a video output to the TV.

I HAVE A RCA TELEVISION, MODEL F20632. I CANNOT FIND THE MANUAL TO HELP ME SET UP MY VCR. I HAVE A 4-PLUG VIDEO CABLE (YELLOW, BLACK, GREEN AND RED). CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH CONNECTIONS ON THE TV I NEED TO...

the yellow rca input jack( not the output one ) is for video in (by itself ) and the red and white rca jack inputs are for the right and left audio that is also required when using the yellow video jack
the red and white audio jacks are also required when using the component video inputs ( BLUE , GREEN & RED ) rca jacks
but only one type of connection is required ( yellow video jack , red and white audio jacks ) or ( the blue , green and red component video jacks and the red and white audio jacks )

you will need the yellow video input and the red and white audio inputs
