It would have been quite nice if you have kindly posted a picture of your printout with your problem, but it seems like its an alignment problem, Try printer alignment that is present on the settings menu of the printer software, it should automatically guide you on the rest, and if its the alignment problem it will be certainly fixed. Hope this helps

I changed two colour ink cartridges on my Canon iP4200 printer. Now it won't print colour. The pattern check does not print any colour.

You might want to double check to make sure that your printer takes two color cartridges? If I remember correctly, the Pixma takes one black and one color cartridge? If you put a color cartridge in the black ink assembly that would cause it to stop printing.

Double check and make sure that you have one black cartridge in the correct place and one color on the other side.

Faint print

Check the print driver settings, this may need to be changed.
Also clean the cartridge nozzle with damp paper towel - should work.
You can service the device in the driver properties.

Ink has run out message

Ink not made for your printer has risks. 20 years as Canon rep taught me this. Yields: are affected by resolution, type of paper, condition of print head, condition of ink jets, all ink jets and lasers are mfg'd under lisence to Canon. You have the best! Anytime supplies are cheaper, something is left out. used cartridges usualy leak air and drip ink ck for stains under print head. cartridge has used blotter also drips. Cheaper cartridges contain less ink, no free lunch. Fill it yourself 1 or 2 times and do it right. Put the printer in your shower for twenty minutes if you see excess leaked ink. Allow to air dry for a few days then install new cartridges. Run all the Nozzle checks and print head utilities. Touch nothing else on the inside. This will fix it or f@#%k it up for good

Canon mp460 instructions missed

There should be a user guide on the disc that came with the machine. There is also a PDF on this site for it.
On the cartridge replacement lift the top and wait till the cartridges come to the rest position, there should be a guide there, but if not pull them down and fit new ones - they should push up into place. Close the lid, the machine will then reset if you have done it right.
PS make certain you remove the orange film from the new carts!
