It appears that the print head is not seated correctly. I will advise you to take it out and re-seat it correctly.

Printer head

The error can be the result of firmware code, printer contacts or the printhead itself failing. There is a firmware update that addresses the "Printhead Error" on your printer. Please follow the steps below on how to successfully update your printer and provide information to the following questions:

1. Open the cover to remove the printhead and tanks (if installed). You may go to http://bit.ly/klw9sJ to have a visual on how to remove the printhead. Note: Carrier will come to the center automatically with this error message as the cover is opened.
- Remove the tanks and place on a table.
- Open printhead latch and remove the printhead.
- Close the printhead latch, close the printer cover, and confirm the error message goes away from op panel.

2. Proceed with the firmware update. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the update. Click here to download an important firmware update for your printer. If more than one download is listed for your model, choose the first download in the list. If it is the wrong firmware level, an error message will tell you which firmware level is correct. Please indicate if the update failed or successful.

3. If the firmware update software notifies that you have the latest firmware version, please inspect the printhead for the manufacturing stamp (http://bit.ly/vLvfCx ).
a. Is the stamp on the nozzle plate side?
b. Is the stamp on the contact side?

4. Open cover, open latch, and insert printhead only.

- Firmly push down on printhead then close latch and cover.
- If error message goes away, continue with normal installation steps for cartridges.
- If error message remains, open cover, remove cartridges, open latch, remove printhead, re-install printhead, close latch and install tanks cartridges firmly.

5. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

I keep getting an error saying my printhead is missing on my lexmark printer

Try to clean the contacts of the printhead and the printer. If it doesn't work, unplug the power of the printer for about 30 seconds and plug it back in.

HP5500 UV...after paper jam I have a replace lt cyan printhead message and recover black printhead.

The Lt Cyan printhead may have been damaged by the paper jam.

I recommend removing all the printheads and power cycling the machine (turn off then back on) Install the printheads and check that each one says OK. Replace any that show recover or bad. (HP will replace free if it is under warranty - return it to the store you purchased it from)

Error message! I just got a Kodak 5210 printer and it keeps saying "printhead carriage jam. open printer access door. clear any obstruction. check installation of printhead and ink cartilages. close...

To resolve the error condition:

1. Disconnect the power adapter from the printer.

2. Wait 30 seconds to allow the printer to reset.

3. Connect the power adapter to the printer. Turn the printer on if necessary.

4. Wait until the printer is ready to use.

If the error condition continues:

1. Open the printer access door.

2. Remove and install the print head two times. - See http://faqs.kodak.com/atg/faq/attachments/AUR1780-2.pdf

3. Close the printer access door.

4. Wait until the printer is ready to use.

5. If the error is still displayed, contact Kodak

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

Error code U052; keeps saying incorrect printhead installed - the printhead has never been changed

Per Canon's website, and this just worked for my mp620:
Turn the printer on.
Open the cover.
Remove the ink cartridges.
Remove the printhead.
Re-install the above (this resets the printhead).
Close the cover.
Printer should initialize and go to home menu screen.

5300 kodak eazyshare printer

Well, here is the proper way of fixing or troubleshooting that paper jam error in your printer

Open the printer access door and remove both of the ink cartridge, then remove also the printhead, after that close the printer access door, without those parts. Then it will show a message in the printer screen, "Printhead is missing or has come loose" or "Printhead Not Detected" Install the printhead, just the printhead without the ink cartridges. After that close the printer access door. Then it will show you a message"Ink cartridges is not installed, install ink cartridges". then open again the printer access door, then install the black ink cartridge without the color ink cartridge. then close the printer access door, then message must be " Color ink cartridge is not installed, install color ink cartridge" then install the color ink cartridge." the message must be,"New printhead is detected calibration require, load paper and press start"

Thats the way of overiding the paper jam error message of your kodak all in one printer
hope this will help you guys

Hi i've got a hp 5500,most mornings when i switch the machine on there is a recover print head mesage . can you tell me why this is happening and how i can resolve the problem. thank you gem

Ok well i'm a little confused on this one also, i presume you are referring to a HP printer and the message is displayed.

Try this and let us know if it makes sense to you.

There's a section in your Users Guide about this message.
It will appear on your printer when one or more print head(s) are not performing optimally, so it needs to make extra passes to maintain print quality. You can eliminate the message by:

1. Selecting a higher print quality
2.Cleaning print heads (also see RECOVER print heads)
3.Use the Image Diagnostic Print to identify which print head is causing the problem
