Minolta magicolor 2200 DeskLaser Printer Logo
Anonymous Posted on Apr 02, 2011

My magicolor 2200 keeps asking me to put paper in the mpt (multi purpose tray) when I'm printing form the bottom tray. The resulting print comes out slightly smeared and starts part way down the page. Also, the mpt paper sensor seems to be flaky

Playing iwth the leaf switch gets me closer and to a different error message of "put letter paper in the mpt", but I already have letter paper in the mpt. If I wiggle the paper, the printer prints a defective sheet (top margin is 2.75 inches below what it should be) and I get the error message again. Could it be a sensor on the mpt feed? I hear a new grinding sound when printing that suggest the printer is trying to do something around the mpt feed.

Where do I find the mpt feed switch?

  • Anonymous Apr 03, 2011

can't find it. Can you give me any more specific location?

Ok seems like 1 of 2 things,,, firstly check your print settings and ensure your selecting the correct try to print from..

turn off machine

might be a stuck sensor, turn off machine look at where u load the paper, close to where the printer pulls it up, there is a small leaf swith there that tell the printer if it has or dont have paper, play ith the switch a bit.. Then turn back on and try again.

more than likely it is.. Its eighter that or the feed tray is braken (thats the gears thats pulls paper) hopefully its the sensor, play with the mpt feed switch as well

to the back here the paper is pulled into the machine.

  • Anonymous Apr 03, 2011

I cant because u am not sure of the exact position but it should be within that location. While you looking for the switch, check the paper feed rollerd in the back (the one that pulls the paper up) see if that is loose or rocking!

Xerox phaser 7400DN jabs at fuser

The printer trays accommodate most sizes and types of paper, transparencies, or other
specialty media. Follow these guidelines when loading paper and media in the trays:
- Envelopes, labels, and glossy paper can be printed from Tray 1 (MPT) only.
- Transparencies and custom size paper can be printed from Tray 1 (MPT) and Tray 2.
- Fan paper, transparencies, and labels prior to loading them in the tray.
- Use only paper envelopes. All envelopes should be printed single-sided only. Some
wrinkling and embossing may occur when printing envelopes.
- Do not overload the paper trays.
- Adjust the paper guides to fit the paper size.
- If excessive jams occur, use paper or other media from a new package.

Xerox Phaser 7400DN keeps rejecting jobs I send to print because it says "Wrong Paper Size" in tray. I am using 11 x 17 paper in the MPT tray, and it asks for 8.5 x 11 instead. I am sure the...

It's hard to set up the mpt tray when the display is out. Send the job to the printer with no paper in the mpt. The printer should then ask you to put 11 x 17 in the mpt. Hope that helps.

Magicolor 2500W keeps faulting when printing reverse side of already printed sheets. Will not pick up sheet from tray

Possibly the paper grip rollers (inside at bottom rear) are waxed and not gripping. Take a small drop of Isopropyl alcohol and wipe the surfaces clean, this usually works.

KONICA MINOLTA magicolor 5430DL don't recognize paper

The machine keeps track of what paper was reqested last, and asks you to change paper if the new job is different. I get the "put media" message and have to open and close the drawer if my next print job requests a different paper. So I suggest you gently open and slam the drawer a couple of times, or see if you can find the sensor switch that monitors whether the drawer is open. Also check if your paper guides in the drawer are clicked in place.

Trying to print but it ask me to load paper or form feed. also got a bypass tray message.

Sound like the computer printer preferences "paper source" is set to bypass if set to "auto select" select the tray you want. Also make sure type of paper matches what is in printer.

My 2003 laser jet 1320 suddenly quit printing.

Good chance something is wrong with the tray, are you able to print of you place paper in the multi-purpose tray (tray 1)?

If so, one thing that may be your problem in tray 2 is here:

Printing legal documents

Absolutely. Just click on the "PROPERTIES" button found on the "PRINT"menu. Find the "PAPER SOURCE" option, open it and select "Manual Paper Tray" or "Manual MPT". As soon as you confirm your print job, you unit will display a message asking for paper on the manual tray, which is the horizontal slot just above the paper tray. Insert each legal paper manually until your print job is done.
