You should first run a test page. Open your printer. Go to properties and maintenance. Try to run a test page to see if it might be that the ink cartridges are clogged. If the test page does not print correctly, the first thing I would try to do is run the cartridge cleaner. It might take several attempts but it should get somewhat better each time. Let me know if you need more direction.

I have an Epson R1900, this problem just started, it will print a line and advance the paper while printing but prints the same image or text on the next line, paper advance issue or a timing issue?

Based on the symptoms you described, it sounds like there may be a timing issue with your Epson R1900 printer. The erratic spacing and repeated printing of the same image or text on the next line suggest that the paper advance mechanism is not functioning properly. This could be caused by a number of factors, including a worn or damaged paper feed roller, a misaligned paper feed mechanism, or a malfunctioning sensor that controls the paper advance timing.
To troubleshoot this issue, you can try the following steps:
  1. Check the paper feed roller for wear or damage. If it is worn or damaged, it may need to be replaced.
  2. Check that the paper is loaded correctly in the printer, and that it is not jammed or wrinkled.
  3. Check that the paper thickness setting in the printer driver matches the paper you are using.
  4. Clean the paper feed mechanism and paper feed roller with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  5. Reset the printer by turning it off, unplugging it from the power source, and leaving it unplugged for at least 10 minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on again.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to take your printer to a qualified technician for repair or replacement of faulty parts.

I have an HP printer scanner 1310 series. Have trouble with printing. It will run about 3 blank pages through before it will print. Then it will run a page part way through so have to open back to get it...

Hi Audrey-

There are many things that will effect how your printer handles paper. The most overlooked being the size of the document or image to be printed. If the image or text bleeds over the edges (left, right, top, bottom) of the document, several sheets can be ejected before the "visible" printing takes place. Often those first few pages look blank, but actually are the outer edges of your picture or text. If you are printing a large picture or large text document, this may be your situation. Try printing a document with just a few words on it (like a small email) as a test.

The second most common culprit is dusty, dirty feed rollers in the printer. Consult your HP 1310 series manual for instructions on cleaning the feed rollers, or consult this general cleaning article on HP.com. HP PSC 1310 All-in-One Printer series cleaning

The type of paper can also effect how many sheets are pulled into the rollers. Is the paper new?, Thick?, Very thin?, or is it the same ol' printer paper you've always used? Either way, remove the stack of paper from the feed tray, "fluff" it by fanning it (like flipping through a book very quickly, or the way Superman counts a stack of money!) and replace. Print a test page.

Let me know if this helps!

Will not Print

Try a hardware check of the printer first. To check the hardware of the printer, do the following:
  1. Switch off the printer.
  2. Load one sheet of paper into the paper feeder.
  3. Press the Power button and the Paper Feed button at the same time and hold them both down for three seconds. Then release the Power button only.
  4. When the printer begins to print, release the Paper Feed button. A page will be printed. The page should contain some text at the top and a series of horizontal color lines (cyan, magenta and yellow) below the text, with a thick black line below the colored lines. All the lines should be solid.
  5. When the test is complete, switch off the printer. NOTE: If you do not switch off the printer, it will continue to print.

Printer has started to misalign text, moving up past labels

Verify your paper settings match between the printer and PC. If a roller is dirty the paper might feed late.

Make sure the paper aligning slides are tight to the sides of the paper. In the case that they are spring loaded make sure there is not something preventing them from holding the paper properly aligned.
The print head could be 'off-track'...
If the text is properly aligned on the edge of the page, but appears crooked it is related to the print head assembly. If the text is not aligning to the edge of the page then the paper is not feeding straight and the paper aligning slides are at fault.
It is also possible that one of the paper feed rollers are not grasping the paper and it is forcing it to one side as it pulls it in.

Nothing comes out when I print

Epson 777 will not print. No paper jam. Power light flashing; red error light on steady. Paper does not feed; if paper supply is placed deeper in feed, entire paper supply (about 12 sheets) feeds thru as one sheet normally would , without printing.
