Plug the modem filter in the wall, plug the modem into the filter, then plug the router into the modem. From there you should be able to set up your network or personal internet.

I have D-link 2750U (modem *** router). I am switching from BSNL to Hathway (ISP). Hathway does not supports ADSL. Suggest a work around!

ADSL modem/routers can only route from adsl line, no way you can use it as normal router, maybe ISP can provide you with its own modem router...

My modem ADSL data light keeps flashing and sometimes does not appear affecting my ability to acces the Internet.
I usually have to re-boot my computer and this seems to solve the problem for a time. It is very inconsistant and anoying.Thank youM. Davis

ADSL DATA light flashes says there is internet activity (Internet status: Connected)...
ADSL DATA when off says there is no internet activity (Internet status: Not Connected)...

This occurs when there is a lot of noise in your telephone line...
It is adviced to do a line test in this case to find the amount of noise in your line...
If there is a lot of noise your modem will lose the internet connectivity and will try to re-establish the connection with ISP...
In this case the ADSL DATA light switches between OFF and ON...

One more thing...
ADSL SYNC light should be steady...
If it is blinking is says there is no syncronisation between your modem and ISP...

Dir 825 router it will not connect to the internet

Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem, that means the modem is working fine.
You will need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Click Here for more information about the routers and network

www.speakeasy.net go to the bottom you should see whats my speed or test ur speed click on that and select a server closest to you and it will run a speed test up and download speed

No Line on US Robotics ADSL Wireless Gateway

Hi,

Initially what I suspect is that your USR's connection to your ISP is intermittent but with that of the USB modem is consistent. This is clearly an ISP issue and should be resolved by them.

One thing you can try is to verify the integrity of the line splitter that is commonly used to split the 2-wire signal to the telephone and to the modem/router. You can actually remove the splitter and connect the telephone line straight to the WAN/ADSL input of the USR 9106 Wireless Gateway and check if their is an improvement or if your ADSL and WAN IP will light up consistently.

Alternately, if your ISP is too busy to attend to your concern, you can try mimicking the USR's WAN settings to that of the USB modem's. While still using the USB (provided by your ISP) determine its WAN IP settings. This would be IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway and DNS. You need to access the USB modem to get this data. Should you need detailed instructions, pls post back the make/model of the ISP provided USB modem. If you were able to gather the information. Connect your USR 9106 Wireless Gateway (Ethernet 1~4) to your PC using a LAN cable and enter its configuration page. In its WAN/ADSL settings, use the numbers gathered from the USB modem. You may need to do a full hard reset on the router (rear panel) prior to putting in the numbers.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. If problem persists, pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Zoom ADSL X6 Modem "Link" Light Suddenly Blinks Continuously

the modem may have gone faulty so if your isp provided it ask them to replace it if the modem is in warranty period and if your isp provides internet connection through the phone line then first please try plugging the modem on main socket in with an adsl filter plugged in and if this is not the case then problem is definately the line through which the broadband signal come to your place which is suppose to be sorted out by your isp.

Setting up linksys adsl2 modem

The ADSL, Ethernet, and USB ports are located at the back of a Linksys modem. These ports are where the phone cable and computer will be connected. The ADSL Line should be connected to the ADSL port and the computer either be connected to Ethernet or the USB port., If u r using a ethernet cable no need to run the setup cd just connect the ethernet cable and contact ur isp..
do not worry about ur sagem modem, let it be inside.. just connect ethernet cables alone..

To setup a Linksys ADSL Modem with usb cable you need to perform two steps:
  1. Connecting the Devices Together
  2. Installing the USB Driver
Connecting the Devices Together
Step 1:
Connect the phone cable to the wall jack with ADSL service and then connect the other end to the ADSL port of the modem.
Step 2:
Make sure the power adapter is plugged to an available power outlet.
Step 3:
Connect the USB to the USB port on the back of the modem and then connect the other end top the USB port of the computer.
Step 4:
Power on the modem. After connecting the device together, install the USB driver. For instructions, follow the steps below.
Installing the USB Driver
Step 1:
Power on the computer.
Step 2:
When the Hardware Update Wizard window appears. Click Install the software automatically (Recommended).
NOTE: Windows XP has pre-installed drivers for the ADSL2MUE and will automatically install the USB driver for the modem.
Step 3:
Click Finish.
