I have an RCA L26WD26D Flat Panel TV. When I turn it on everything works except the picture. What I get is sometimes vertical colored lines that change color with time. Sometimes the screen turns black and partially white and sometimes it remains with colored vertical lines. If I leave it on it eventually give me a picture and everything works great. Sometimes this can take 20 minutes, sometimes it takes 5 hours. Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm trying to fix it myself as I live on a fixed income.

You need to take it to a TV repair service, preferably one that specialises in Sony TV's. There is nothing you can do to fix this yourself.

this was adjusted by the fine tune on the selector It is the picture not being held in place by being out of tune Same as if the picture goes sideways On the real old units there were 2 knobs to make these adjustments.

good day your vertical ic is defective needs to replace look for qualified technician to fix your tv

the LCD panel has failed but i know of no one that has a replacement panel for that model get the genaric number off the panel on a white sticker and do a search .maybe some one will have a good pullout

it will either be a defective tact switch on the control buttons on the set
or a main board causing this problem it it still has warranty you would contact RCA and get the number of a local servicer to assist you with this problem

hi i have a 50" magnavox that has a problem, i was looking at several websites and i find out the dirfferent posibilities.
in your case i have 2 posibble answers.
1) negative image
tv turns on and shots down in 2sec
flashing pixels on screen
dark image
has sound but no video
screen goes black and then return to normal picture
vertical color lines on screen no video
vertical color lines with video
vertical bars on screen
horizontal lines on the image
picture goes red after while
IT COLUD BE (X or Y or Z SUSTAIN BOARDS )

2) just left part of screen working
just right part of the screen is working
vertical and horizontal lines on screen
part of screen not working
some functions not working
no video but has sound
functions not working at all
IT COULD BE (LOGIC CONTROL BOARD)

On the remote, press the picture size button until you can see what you want. there are 4 or 5 different sizes available, dependine on the TV.

On al the plasma tvs there are control boards on the lower part of the screen that control the vertical images. If one of the chips on one of the boards fail, have a bad connection, or no ground it will result in a thick black lne down the screen. Seeing as the tv is new I would get the warrantee repair on it. There is a possibility that there is a problem with the screen itself but more than likely its the boards.

Happens with mine also usually happens when you change channels alot all you need to do is shut tv off and turn it back on.

if the tv is less than a year old , call 1-800-SAMSUNG for warranty repair, the lcd panel is bad
