This sounds like a conflict with something that's loading into memory when you switch on and load the Operating System.

Boot into safe mode. (F8 every half second while booting) Allow to load mode.

Go to start.

Type in search MSconfig

Go to 'Start up' tab.

Deselect anything you know you don't need from the list.

Hopefully, you'll hit the right one and the problem program won't load.

Blue screen of death

It is a problem with either your memory manager or a dll file most likely. If you have an install disk run the memory test on it. This may be called the WIndows memory diagnostic tool or something similar. Often when it reboots it will come up fine again and keep on doing so. If its a corrupt dll you will need to repair windows using an XP system disk or recovery CD/DVD. Hope this helps.

Cannot start up

Do you have a copy of your OS disk:

Try This:

insert your Windows XP Setup CD, and restart your computer. 1.
When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.
2.
Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.
3.
Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.
4.
In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.
5.
Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.
6.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

Dunno what happen??

When You Boot up your screen goes in to the windows xp loading bar and after a quick blue flashin screen pops up and it restarts unfortunately this is what they call the Blue Screen of Death so more than likely you harddrive with the os is corrupted so either you will need to reload the OS or by a new harddrive and load the Os on that Harddrive

Blue screen with error message on startup

Most likely problem is a physical problem with the hard drive, but could be plenty of other things. Best bet is to back up your information (if possible) and do a fresh windows install, if you continue to get the message after a clean windows install, your hard drive is not stable, and has a problem.

Toshiba satellite laptop comes on and stays at windows xp page

If Safe Mode doesnt work then you may have to do a "repair" of your O/S. Place your Windows XP CD into the CD-Rom drive, reboot and once you see the options if you want to Install or Repair - choose Repair. This option will make repair to your O/S and for safe mode.
Once repair is complete do a complete Anti-Virus and Spyware scan of your Hard Drive. If you can boot into Safe Mode to run the ani-virus much better.

My Toshiba Satellite A215-S7413 laptop randomly goes to a blue screen with lots of white writing on it. I never have time to read it because it goes away so quickly. After the screen goes away it restarts...

Try going to Start - Run.
Type sfc /scannow in the run line and hit enter or click ok.
A dialog will pop up that says "Windows File Protection"
Allow this to run and insert the Win XP CD if requested.
Hopefully this will resolve your issue!
