-please clarify. do you mean SSD?
-if yes, you can buy an SSD kit from known vendors like Western Digital of Segate or from any computer accessory retail store.
-you may need small philips head screw driver to open the hard drive compartment.
-NOTE: make sure that you are not voiding the hardware warranty of your laptop when you do this.
-choose the capacity that you need and it comes with instruction how to use the kit.
-normally what you will do is, you plug an external USB to SATA adapter onto the computer, plug the SSD on the other end. Install the software that comes with it, use the software to kinda clone the content of the built in drive to the SSD drive. After the clone process is done, you need to turn off the laptop, unplug the AC adapter, remove the battery pack, remove the hard drive that came with the laptop, put in the SSD, put back the battery pack, plug the AC adapter back in, then turn the computer on to test the SSD.

Computer cannot recognize wireless network coming from a router. It recognises a number of other networks but not mine

You need to configure the router to show its SSID or at least give it an SSID. Without one, the router doesn't know who it is. It doesn't have to be displayed as long as you know what it is, but you must define it yourself. Then if you chose not to have the router display it, you will manually have to tell the computer the SSID ytou want to connect to.
tip

SSID info

an SSID is a 'name' that you give to a router. This is handy when you live or work in a place that has many wifi "hot spots" and you want to know which one is for your machine. You can name it your last name and people in the area will know it is yours. You can also setup security on it to keep unwelcomed jumpers from stealing your internet signal. See my tip on wireless security.

How to change the SSID & Password on Belkin.122 wireless router.

Grandkids should see SSID on their computer if it is being broadcast by your modem ( you probably have modem/ router) if they don't see SSID , your modem may have broadcast SSID set to off. If they can see it, have them enter your password. Passwords are case sensative .

Wireless ssid not showing in some laptops and mobiles -dlink router

The D-Link wireless router may have the SSID broadcast turned off.
In this case only computers that have wireless connection to the D-Link will show the SSID.
If you know the SSID you can enter the SSID manually in the wireless card settings in the laptop/computer.
OR
Turn on SSID broadcast in the D-Link wireless settings.

I have inserted my Netflix Watch Instantly DVD into the WII and I have wireless internet service at home, the console asked me to enter the SSID number so I figured this was my wireless network password...

Hello,

The SSID(network name) is actually the name you give the router. When you are on a wireless device and look at available wireless routers in range, the name you see is the SSID. You can see the SSID in multiple ways,

Login to your router admin page by going to the router ip address(usually 192.168.1.1) and log in. After you log in, go to the wireless settings and confirm your SSID.

If you have a wireless device like a laptop, you can view all available wireless routers in range and you should see yours show up. Check what the name of it is(SSID) and use that and input it into your Wii.

For additional help, read my tech article on how to connect your Wii to the internet. Click here to read it.

I have loaded my PC with the SW for my F7D4302 Belkin Wireless Play Router and when I go in the other room to access my wireless laptop - the system asks for my network key and confirm key.

Hey hi dude. The router which you have installed recently in your system is password protected i guess. While installing the router software itself you will be asked to give some password in order to protect the router from 3rd party interference and to make it personalised for you. So just recollect the password which you have given that time and give the password to connect it. You can able to connect it. The problem is not with the distance between the router and your laptop.

I have a linskys wireless G access point. Its working for my laptop but just recently my laptop said that my interent secuirty is secuirty enabled and that linkys is a unsecure network. What do I do? It...

jpconda - you did nothing wrong.
By changing your SSID, your connection broke, because you were still associated with your old SSID (linksys).
Right-click on your wireless network connection symbol in your taskbar and choose "View Available Wireless Networks". If you broadcast your SSID, you should see your new name in the list.
Just connect to it (and hopefully enter the security key..;-).
If you don't see it, go to 192.168.1.1 and enable the broadcast of your SSID ( on the Wireless Tab - Basic Wireless Settings). Don't forget to save your changes!
Once your are connected, you can disable the broadcast again, if you don't want someone else to "see" your network.
