Cannon Pixma MP830 -- Nozzle cleaning -- I've repeatedly (at least a dozen times) run the "Deep Cleaning" option in the printer utility but cannot get the magenta nozzles to totally clear -- still get white streaks in the darker magenta color strip when I print the test page. The Deep Cleaning has been run using a new Cannon cartridge. I think the clogged nozzle problem is the result of using an aftermarket refilled magenta cartridge that may have leaked ink as I installed it. Is there anything else I can do to get these nozzles to clear. There has been definite improvement -- initially, there was very little color at all in the darker magenta strip. Thanks

You can sometimes buy cleaning cartridges that contain fluid designed to clean nozzles. See if they exist for your model.

SOURCE: iP4300 only recognizes magenta OR cyan

1. Get compressed air
2. Run Printhead under HOT water, do not worry about contacts getting slightly wet.

3. Blow compressed air with straw attachment into screens where the cartridge nozzle sits on printhead. then let it sit and dry.

4. reinstall print test page

5. if this fails open paint/photoshop and print a page of the color that is not printing correctly. rinse and repeat until colors flow freely.

I have several ip4300s and I have yet to give up the ghost on a printer with a clog ujsing this method.

SOURCE: When I print photos, they have uniform vertical streaks.

Issue: Banded or streaked prints
Solution: Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows)

Change the Print Quality Settings (Windows) The Quality setting controls how finely ink droplets are placed on the printed page. Depending on the type of paper being used a higher Print Quality setting does not always insure a better print. Print speed will decrease as the Print Quality setting is increased. Follow the instructions below to change the print quality settings in the Canon printer driver for the Windows operating system through a printing application.

  1. Click 'Properties' in the Print dialog box.

Note: Depending on the Application software, 'Properties' may be displayed as 'Preferences'.

  2. Set the desired print quality in the 'Print Quality' section.

  3. Select 'High', 'Standard', or 'Draft / Fast'.
To set more detailed print quality settings, follow this procedure:
  1. Select 'Custom' and click 'Set'.

    win_main_print_quality.jpg

  2. In the Set Print Quality dialog drag the slide bar from 'Fast' to 'Fine' to select the print quality.

    win_print_quality_slider.jpg

Note: There are five options in 'Quality'. However, selectable options are limited depending on the media type.

  3. Select 'Auto', 'Dither', or 'Diffusion' from the 'Halftoning' section.

SOURCE: I refilled the magenta myself in a Canon MP560 and

Hi

Some times it needs a good clean up but this is up to you if you want to do this I put down here. But after you don this prime the printer so it gets the inks back in the heads, it may take a little time for the inks to work.

Ok it got to be the heads blockage
There is fluid cleaner for this but I can never find any in the shops the only ones I seen is when they sell them in Tesco but they come in with the ink refill bottles so I just use worm water by it self on a cloth and dabbing on the heads to clean them, it will not harm the heads but not to much water.

Some heads are on the inks them self but some have them inside the printer so I not know your printer so if the heads are inside you need to get them out you may find that some heads will just clip out put some need to be unscrewed so you got to know how they come out so be careful and not push to hard on them, if the heads are on the ink then it is a easy job to clean them,
It worth a try it worked for me more than ones.

Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.

How do i clean the printhead on my pixma mp750

If you open the preferences option for your printer there should be a maintenance tab with easy options for cleaning and checking the results. The alternative is to use the menu directly on the printer: 1. Press Menu twice to show "2. Maintenance" 2. The first option is NOZZLE CHECK 3. Press OK This should give you a print showing the current state of each colour. If there are any missing lines in 3eBK or lines in any colours then perform the head cleaning below. 1. Press Menu twice to show "2. Maintenance" 2. Press + to show "CLEANING" 3. Press OK Repeat the nozzle check after each clean. If not improved after three attempts try a deep clean as below (cleaning uses up ink) 1. Press Menu twice to show "2. Maintenance" 2. Press + twice to show "HEAD REFRESHING" 3. Press OK Repeat the nozzle check. If still not printing correctly there are various external solutions available to clean the print head such as http://www.printheadhospital.co.uk/canon-hp-printhead-cleaning-kit.html

We have a MP830 Canon - Faxes/copies are printing with text missing; appears to be missing every three lines or so. I have cleaned the printer head; auto aligned it but still printing with missing text. ...

I service this unit a lot for print quality issues, and most of them come from using non-Canon brand ink. There is a solvent quality to the Canon ink that helps keep the printhead from clogging.
If you are not using it, I recommend it, especially for the big #5 ink tank.
Alignment has nothing to do with the missing print.
Use the cleaning utility in the maintenance area of the printer driver utilities to clean the printhead.
Run the nozzle check, and you should see improvement with each cleaning. Do not run the cleaning more than maybe 5 times, and never use the deep cleaning, you are just wasting a lot of ink.
If you don't see any improvement, stop cleaning and take the unit in for service - we have sonic washers and other effective methods for cleaning and flushing the printheads without damage.
You can replace the printhead yourself, but it will cost less to have it cleaned.

PRINTING COLOR PICTURES ARE ALOT ORANGE IN COLOR MP830 ???

clean your nozzles cartridges.

STEP 1: Printer Cartridge Removal
You must remove the printer ink cartridges from the printer. You should then set down the cartridge on a plain and stable surface. The cartridge must be placed with the nozzle facing up.
STEP 2: The Distilled Water Cleaning
Take a Q-tip. Moisten it with distilled water. All excess water from the Q-tip should be removed or wrung out.
STEP 3: Sweep across the surface of the nozzle tip with the Q-tip. This will help you wipe the surface.
STEP 4: Sustain the Process
You must keep continuing the process of cleaning till your Q-tip does not show any residue.
STEP 5: Check if it Works
For this, you need to put back the cartridge in the printer. The printer alignment function needs to be used for the alignment of the printer cartridge.
STEP 6: The Clean 'Head' Option
After you cleaning nozzles physically, you can give the cleaning process another go by selecting the cleaning option from the printer settings. Once cleaned, you can check whether the nozzle is print-worthy or not, by giving a print command.
If the cleaning process has not been successful repeat the whole process again.

Cannon Pixma MP830 - smearing on front when printing

If you have taken it apart that far then you are way ahead of the game. My suggestion would be to clean the head or anything the ink touches in a vinegar/water solution. The vinegar dissolves any dried ink whereas the soap may actually gum things up. If that doesn't work or improve things I would say that your print head has a seal problem. The replacement print heads are worth more than a new printer so you can probably figure out whats cheaper to do.

Re Canon Pixma 4000 black ink is not printing colours are printing Computer not used for 6 months

Canno ip 4000:

please go to the maintenance tab.
This you will find if you try to print anything.
In the print box >go to properties>go to maintence
Here the following Maintenance option are there:
cleaning,
deep cleaning,
Head Alignment,
Nozzle check.
Before your start maintenance, please check whether all print tanks have ink in them
Do a Nozzle check first, this will indicate where you have the problem. Once identified, you can do a color cleanig or a deep cleaning.
Do a Nozzle check again.
You could repeat this cycle about three times or so.

If your problem still persists, then its probably the Print head with jammed nozzles.

Please let me know whether you could solve it.
Please do rate this solution and thanks for using FixYa.

Canon pixma ip4000 color not printing correctly with full inks

In both cases be sure using correct ink. Use of generic ink can lead to leakage of catrridge seats do to crossion from inferrior ink quality (per Cannon). Be sure ink in proper locations - see manual. Run the maintenance proceedures: cleaning then print nozzle pattern. If all colors are not proper after two or three cleanings, perform deep cleaning. Print nozzle pattern after each cleaning. This should clear up problem. If not, print head may need replacement.

I have a cannon i850 I was able to print 2 copies of a word doc. but, they had places of lighter ink. I tried to print a 3rd copy and I get blank pages? What is up?

your ink cartridges are probably past their virtual "expiration date" so the ink has become more viscous, allowing the ink to flow for a short time and then stop until it settles back to the vent/opening where it is put on the paper.
