I have a cargo van that has a viper alarm on it. Van is a 1991 chevy. Don't know exactly which model viper alarm it is but on the pad it has a code number on it. For some unknown reason the van has completely shut off on my dad in the middle of ongoing through regular travel speed of 35 mph. Now the van will not start. All lights work when turned on except brake lights and when the ignition key is turned on, no readings are indicatted. For example, the engine, alt and seat belt lights do not come on at all. That would be normally on when ignition is on. Really need help with resetting or just overide the problem and disconnect the dam alarm.

If the normal dash lights do not come on with key in on position (engine not running) then it most likely is a bad starter.

SOURCE: Citroen C15 Diesel Van.

It definitely sounds like the electrical part of your ignition isn't working properly. When you turn the key, the lck and tumbler turns on the ign. switch in which sends power to the rest of the car.

SOURCE: Car alarm won't reset after disconnecting car battery

you should try to hit the unlock button on the remotes and that should disarm it. Try disarming that, that way and if that doesnt work we will go from there

SOURCE: My Mustang Cobra has a Viper alarm system that won't set

Under the dash, Your installer that worked on your Cobra should have put an valet button under the dash, It is a small round Black button, Ok with the driver door open,,put your key in the ignition and go to the on position, Locate the black button before you do this, once the ignition is on hold the black button down for 3 seconds hit it once more and then turn the ignition off, the light should start flashing again and the chirp for arm and disarm with work again, What you have going on is called Valet mode which is designed to put the alarm side of the system to sleep which can happen from accidentally bumping it.

Hope this was helpful.

Need serpentine belt routing diagram 1987 Chev Astro Van 6 cyl

If nobody here provides it for you (I don't have your van's manual), then visit the chevy dealership and ask a not-too-busy shop foreman or a parts dept. person for a little assistance. A quick look in a repair manual for your van may also have it. It must have got scraped off or disappeared from under your hood, on a little sticker?

1999 Chevy Astro Van. Don't know exact model # of

You should have a 4l60E in your astro van. Which is electrically controlled, so no vacuum modulator. However, to address the ventilation selector not working... look for a vacuum line exiting the firewall and going to the passenger rear of the intake manifold. You will likely find it broken or disconnected there.

Van won't start after thunderstorm set off viper alarm system

Not saying this is your solution. I would do the simple thing first. Disconnect the battery for 5 to 10 minutes and see if it allows the alarm to reset. If not call your local car alarm installer. Maybe Best Buy. These companies will more than likely help you out

How to change fuel pump in 97 chevy 2500 (cargo

You have to drop the fuel tank. It is inside. Hope the tank is near empty, remove the 2 fuel fill hoses, you have two straps, lower tank, remove 3 wire connectors, and several more lines. Please use an ac delco fuel pump module. It may come updated with a new wiring connector to fix the old ones problem. If it does, you have to rewire the van following the directions.
