First, I recommend that you unplug the tv and wait 60 seconds before plugging it back in. If it come on and stays on great. If it comes on and then turns back of, then the problem is likely in the tv. If it does not come on, try plugging the tv into a differnt outlet. Most likely you will need to contact a technician. The power supply regulator section should be troubleshooted. The "Pop" sound you heard might be of a bursted electrolytic capacitor in the AC mains rectifier section inside the TV. All the related commponets, rectifier diodes, protection zener diodes etc:- should be checked before switch ON the TV further.
This is a plasma tv not lcd. The pop mostlikely was a part on the y main board. IF the y-main voltage shifts the set will have red sparkels.

If you have a Sony DLP, then the loud pop you heard is your lamp. The lamps last approx. 4K-6K viewing hours. Read your manual for replacement part number to reorder and very simple to replace yourself.
