Tv picture keeps flashing to black and then back to the picture. This will continue for several minutes, then the picture will be fine for awhile. What is the problem?

This is an easy problem. Your lamp is bad. Do not buy a cheap lamp. They are dim and won't last. I always recommend you buy the sony lamp. Also clean out all dust in back and side of tv..jeff the tv doctor
If so try unplugging the HDMI cable and re plugging the cable in, sometimes those cables work loose and if they are not tight, it will cause your screen to flicker. Happens to my TV once in awhile.
The light is blinking a code. The code will be a series of blinks, a pause and the blinks again. Phone Sony service and give them this code. They will be able to advise you as to the problem.
U have a solid green light from the LED power light indicator right?U have this DLP tv for awhile like two or three years,and use it alots right?Never change the lamp and the ballast right?Change the lamp and the ballast should solved ur problems.
I spoke to several representatives from Sharp and ultimately they are sending a repair person to take care of this problem at no charge. They realize that this is a problem enountered by several people who own this TV. Hopefully, the repair service will be here in the next day or two.
