MY CANON MP480 HAS A MAJOR PROBLEM! For it to be long term fixed send it to the manufacturers or someone able to fix it. Very short term: Simply uninstall the printer from your computer, reinstall it then turn it on. If that doesnt work just shake i hard and click OK. The short term problem solver worked for me. =] Bye, Hope i helped xoxo

I have a brother mfc 7420 and every time I print it tells me paper jam, I pull the paper tray out fix the paper push start it tells me paper then I have to pull out the cartridge and pull out the paper...

Sounds like there is something in the paper track that's causing this to jam. Its not always easy to get small particles cleared just by removing the jammed paper.

This may not help everyone that I send it to, but it is worth a try.
I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press
the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer.
The reason for this is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.
Hope this helps. Bud

Paper jam hp laserjet 5200

All printers after sometime the rollers start grapping more than one sheet that result in paper jam or dirt building up inside…make sure you open the printer and clean it good and see if you can locate any small papers that usually stuck inside…let me know

I corrected the paper jam but the message still says there is a paper jam, cannot see any paper, how do I reset so that I can print?

Try turning off the printer and turn off your pc, now restart both and see if this helps. Any other questions please post back as everyone is more than happy to help you.

Document jam

I had this totally annoying problem this morning. After looking for any obvious paper jams or small bits of loose paper, I tried several fixes: 1) open front cover, release levers that hold white rollbar in place, roll the bar forward to make sure nothing is stuck behind it, snap levers back in place; DID NOT fix the problem; 2) open top cover, remove print cartridge, look for jammed paper bits, close cover; DID NOT fix the problem; 3) unplug the machine, wait a few minutes, turn machine back on; DID NOT fix the problem. I even unplugged the machine, opened ALL the covers, turned the machine upside down and shake it to see if any paper clips, staples, or other objects have fallen inside the machine; DID NOT fix the problem. FINALLY, I pulled the paper feed tray forward, reached down to the feed rollers, twisted them a few turns, put paper back in the machine, and the "paper jam" message disappeared! This may not work for everyone, but it worked for me today, so I hope this helps someone out there to have a better day.

Paper jam

You could try cleaning the tires if you can get to them and check to see if there isn't any paper stuck in the paper path.

Paper jams

Had this problem, too with HP PSC 1610 AIO, paper would pull in part way and stop, then display would indicate: Paper Jam, Clear Jam and Press OK, but there was no paper in the path at all. Found in HP forums that possibly the problem was a broken off piece that may be called the "x-bias" lever which is on a little spring inside the printer just to the left of the carriage bay on the right side of the device. There are two photos of "broken" and "not broken" at this forum site:

Since HP does not sell the little part to repair it, I phoned HP and got a good "trade-in, trade-up" price for a better device. Hope this helps someone else find the answer to the constant paper jam issue, as I always appreciate the FixYa forum help from everyone else here, too.

Lexmark x5490 paper jam

MORNING EVERYONE!!!

well at last managed to retrieve the paper jam. I had to remove the paper feeder then using long thin tweezers, i was able to carefully encourage the paper to come out but you have to be really careful not to damage the rollers.

Can't understand why there isn't an easier way. ie have easy access to the back or lift something up to get into the feeder!!!! anyway thanks for the support and suggestions, will gladly reccommend you guys to friends and collegues!!
