Question about Hoover Vacuums

2 Answers

I have a Hoover Agility Steamvac and the brushes will not rotate. I have cleaned the filters and the the "brushes on" feature has been selected. Any suggestions on what else I might try to get it working?

I will take off the bottom and see what I can do. However, my model number is not listed.

    Thanks for your assistance.

You have a broken brush bar belt. Just simply replace it with a new one. This is very cheap and easy to fix.

Pull the cover off of the bottom of the Vac and the belt will be there. If it's not broken then it is still stretched to the point that it is spinning on the brush bar. If this is the case, you may be smelling burnt rubber. Replace it.

The most likely thing that has happened is that a belt has broken or slipped off it's roller. You will have to take the bottom cover off to check the belt. The filter may also have to be cleaned. Here is a website where you can choose your model and get some details on it:

Good luck, and hope this helps.

Hoover steam vac model f7425-900 filter is

The brush system on this model has a poor engineering design in that the brushes are running off an air turbine, which uses a steel bushing to spin the turbine which gets rusty from the moisture when the machine is being used. No long term solver. I would replace the machine with a Dirt Devil Platinum Force model

I don't believe there is a belt, check the brush block and make sure that the shaft isn't broken off, if ok, then the turbine is bad and will have to be replaced.
