OK usually the brush will not turn as it gets locked up by the fibers in the stuff sucked up, usually one has to disassemble the head, or some other way, free up all the stuff tangling the brush, on the shaft, and stopping it from turning. I usually use a sharp knife or scissors, etc, to cut and hack carefully away this stuff that clogs it up, I usually have the vacuum on when I do this and the stuff removed simply get sucked up as i do it. it doesn't take much to stop them, just look carefully inside the head and you should see what i mean.
Hope this helps?

Many Vax vacuum cleaner trouble-shooting and maintenance tips are available here: https://support.vax.co.uk/ . The VRS116 support page is https://support.vax.co.uk/u90-ma-re-powerforce-version?___store=support_portal_uk .

The user guide for the VRS116 applies to several models. You can find a link to this manual from the above Vax support page link by searching on the VRS115: https://support.vax.co.uk/u91-ma-be-powerforce-version . The link to the manual is just above the Maintenance section. The direct link to the manual is http://library.vax.co.uk/resource/1387/vrs115/user-guide.pdf .

I hope this helps.

Most common fault with vacuum cleaners is an internal break in the power cord. This is followed by switch problems and then the internal thermal fuse or breaker.

The answer is to partially dismantle and check the circuit with a multimeter.

Power cords usually fail close to either end so taking a chance and shortening it by a foot or two and fitting a new plug could pay off.

Check the hose where it attaches inside the machine. They often get cracks which leak when using the tool.

Any vacuum cleaner repair and sales shop would be able to supply the parts.

There is a hubcap assembly on the outside of each rear wheel that must be removed. Under the hubcap you will need to remove the e clip from the shaft to allow the wheel to slide off.
