This could be a printer driver problem. Try to uninstall your existing Lexmark X4270 printer driver from your computer. On your computer, go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 4200 Series > Tools > Uninstall. After the process, reboot pc when prompted.

If you downloaded the driver for the x4200 series then that is alright. But to make sure redownload the driver and reinstall it. After that unplug the USB connector to your computer and then restart the computer. Wait until you have gone into windows and logged in before plugging back the usb connector. Wait for windows to acknowledge the connection by showing an installing device message or by a series of tones. Check on your printer devices if your printer is online. Try printing a test page. If you are still getting a problem make sure to jot down the error message you are getting and get back to us here at fixya.
Are you getting any particular error messages on the computer when installing the software? If none, uninstall any existing Lexmark software in the computer properly by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > Programs > Lexmark Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Reboot pc.
