Standby LED light flashes 5 times and TV will not turn on

There are particular blinks meaning on sony TV. I can give you the problem from your sony tv if you specify or count how times the LED flashed.

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. SUBJECT: Counter measure for Intermittently 5 times standby LED blinking
SYMPTOM: Customer may report that intermittently after AC OFF/ ON (or Deep Standby/ ON), TV will shut down with LED blinking 5 times. If set is placed in Standby, then On, symptom will re occur. If AC is removed, set will work normally when AC restored
CAUSE: Timing mismatch of I2C communication causes interrupt signal inside TV. This causes TV to shut down with error 'Standby led flashes 5 times'

SOLUTION: This is a user correctable issue -
Where possible, please refer customer to Sony Website -(or ) and search for relevant model to download correct update. If the unit is in Workshop, please perform update as per Instructions.

In standby mode (red led on/after the led stops from blinking), press "Display", "5", Volume (-)", "Power on" on the remote control in sequence, self diagnostic screen will be display, let me know the what is on the screen to diagnose where the fault came from.

Needs new lamp or the fan is out.

Just got an LG 42LH2000 and code 0206 works

You either have a bad fan or one of the rotation sensors mounted on one of the fans has failed. Take the back off the set and see it the main fan slightly right of center is rotating. If it is, there are two more fans, one mounted right above the lamp and another on the optical block itself. You will have to pull the optical block to check those.

I have a sony tv PFM-42B1 when I turn it on it go to standby an a red light flash I count count 14 time but I heard that it only support to flash 1 to 6 time how do count the flash
