You need to log onto your router and determine the WEP or WPA key being used. Your router manual has logon details. Also, the key is sometimes on the bottom of the router.

I forgot my WEP key for my ps3

Some later model wireless routers have the Password(ie.Encryption key) and the SSID already configured in the wireless router andthis information is printed on a label on the bottom of the router.
These settings can be used to configure the wireless card and wireless adaptersin your computer/laptop.
If these settings do not suit you, then it can be changed to suit yourrequirements.
The encryption key secures your data and wireless connection from unauthorizedaccess. To configure the wireless settings in the router, connect a LAN cablefrom your computer to the wireless router, then open a Browser on your computerand enter the router's configuration IP address, then enter the admin login andpassword and then go to the wireless settings and configure the SSID andEncryption key.
The router's encryption key can be a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA or WPA2key.If you use the Passphrase method select either WEP or WPA or WPA2 togenerate the encryption key. You can enter the WEP or WPA or WPA2 key with 8 to63 ASCII characters or 64 Hex digits.
Most people use Passphrase which is easier to remember eg. I was born inJanuary 1988.
The strongest and latest security is WPA2, the weakest and oldest is WEP. To connect to your wireless router from the computer/laptop,configure the wireless card in your computer/laptop with the router's wirelesssettings ie SSID, plus the WPA or WPA2 encryption key. Then computer/laptopscan communicate with your wireless router.http://www.fixya.com/support/r10267861-network_security_key

Error 80130182

Hi,

That error code relates to your internet connection - or rather your lack of an internet connection!

Check the settings on your PS3 for the internet connection, as the problem is there somewhere. Make sure all required information is correct, especially your WEP/WPA/SSID keys. They are all case sensitive and are identical to the settings entered into your router.

My son has a PS3 connected through a linksys router (wireless ) in the uk. A couple of days ago his system didnt work and has changed some of the settings..doh I have changed the ssid back to what is...

If the PS3 wont accept your WEP or WPA password it is because it is not the one you chose when you set up the network. The first thing you should do is temporarily disable security on your network and try to connect with your PS3, just to be sure there is not a problem with your network.

If that works, enable either WEP or WPA encryption and choose a new password.

Hello, i am having problems connecting to the internet with my Ps3. i select easy at network setting, then i select my routers SSID name, after that i type in the WPA key. but then it tries to connect...

Probably its a problem between the router keys and playstation's. Try to reset the router and let it with no password (just for a moment, dont worry hehe). Now try to connect. If it works, try to replace the security for WEP. should work.

Good luck

Need to find out my wpa key so i can hang it up to my ps3

The password is the encryption key in your wireless router, without this key the wireless router won't allow the laptop or PS3 to connect to this wireless router.
The WEP, WPA, WPA2 encryption key is in your router's wireless settings. Log into your router and got to the wireless settings, you will need to get the SSID and the encryption key. Then go to your PS3 or computer/laptop's wireless card and configure it with the router's SSID and encryption key, so it will then connect to the wireless router and the Internet.

To secure your wireless network from unauthorized access, please click on this link and follow my instructions :-http://www.fixya.com/support/r3559128-wireless_router_security

I'm trying to find my wep key or port number, I'm trying to connect my PS3 to the internet.

When you purchased the router, you should have run the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard" to configure the router, to set an SSID, to set an encryption-level (use 'WPA' not 'WEP'), and to set a password (WPA-key or WEP-key or pass-phrase).

Use those values that you used when you configured your router to configure your PS3.

Ps3 error code 80711008 and wpa

OK for your WPA you can check the security key by accessing the router http://192.168.1.1 .. password is by default "admin" and username is blank...go to the "wireless" tab and check the ssid...under "wireless security" check the security key...if you have "wep" check the numbers in "key 1"....
now make sure that you connect to your own ssid and type the correct key...
and you are right , you need wlan to connect to the internet wirelessly...however , first make sure that you have internet working through the router..if not you will have to configure the router and for that you a computer connected to the router...

As for your IP address simple use this site http://www.ip-adress.com/ should be everything you need

Connecting ps3 to orange livebox keeps giving me error code 8013013E ?

SSID and Security settings need to match in order to connect.

Try matched SSID with WEP/WPA disabled first.

If that works, then you can move forward toward enabling WEP/WPA as you wish...
