How do you make the desktop full screen on a dell inspiron

Right click your mouse anywhere on your screen/desktop and select "Properties", when the properties window comes up selct "settings" tab and select the different resolution form the window on bottom left. Experiment with different resolution until you see the one you like.

My dell inspiron b130 boots up but monitor is black

After your laptop boots up into windows, hold down the Fn key and as your doing that press the F8 button that should switch the output from the vga connetor to the LCD screen on the laptop.

If you still don't get video then you'll have to reseat the LCD cable from the back of the LCD screen to where it connects to the motheboard.

If you still don't get video then its either going to be a bad LCD or a bad motherboard.

Restore dell inspiron b130 to factory settings

restart the laptop... as soon as you see the big blue DELL screen hold ctrl and press F11.

if done right, this should bring up the dell restore utility, just follow the prompts. takes maybe 15 minutes.

if it is just half of the screen and the rest is black- you need a new screen. If it is half the screen all squished together (you can see the whole desktop) you need to reload the video driver
