My dell B130 laptop powers up and the dell logo comes and the white strip goes all the way to the end and then goes into a black screen with a small blinking light in the top left corner. What could be the probelm? I tried hitting F2 and if I keep the key down long enough it will stay on that screen!

If the display is fine with the external monitor, it means to say that there's something wrong with your LCD's backlight. You may have to contact Dell Technical Support to check if your system is still under warranty.
