My Dell Inspiron B130 screen screen glitch

My Dell Inspiron B130 notebook has a screen problem. The lower quarter of the screen gets jagged lines and or ''grays out''. This is a physical problem. If I grab the top of the screen and twist it, it is normal again. If I bump it, it goes out of wack again. Seems to be a loose connection? Have you heard of this?

Hello,
This could be a screen cable problem but it is normally a faulty screen even though it may look like a loose connection. Get a technician to check it for you.

All the best.

At first check with another working adapter of same volt and ampere. Don't use higher or lower powered adapter, that may damage the motherboard. second power jack and third is motherboard problem.

My Dell B130 laptop screen occasionally has horizontal lines accross the lower 1/3. I can correct by tapping the side of the screen a couple of times. Any suggestions please?

It sounds like your LCD is starting to go out - the screens are usually sectioned off in thirds or quarters, so when a third or a quarter starts having trouble, it's probably time to either replace the LCD, or replace the computer - because of the age of that laptop, it's possibly going to be cost prohibitive to replace the LCD. You can, however, hook it to a desktop monitor and continue using it just fine.

My dell inspiron b130 boots up but monitor is black

After your laptop boots up into windows, hold down the Fn key and as your doing that press the F8 button that should switch the output from the vga connetor to the LCD screen on the laptop.

If you still don't get video then you'll have to reseat the LCD cable from the back of the LCD screen to where it connects to the motheboard.

If you still don't get video then its either going to be a bad LCD or a bad motherboard.
