Startup shutdown I have a problems with starting my h2215, I found my pda out of its cradle and the battery went dead. I recharged it, attempted to start but the unit immediately shuts down after one second when the IPAQ HP invent Start... shows up on the screen. I have performed a Hard reset but the system still refuses to power up. I did an OHM reading on the battery and it shows 3.5 volts any suggestions?

A new battery tried yet, battery tests , with a volt meter
only show if cells are shorted, or low charge state (SOC)
only load tests on battery show weak cells.
the top failure on something like this is the battery.
unless dropped.(and any fail possible)
HP has a real forum. why not ask there.
but battery, is top suspect

SOURCE: trackball connection

no, neither a trackball, nor a mouse can bne used with an iPAQ. The only mouse to be used with iPAQs is a bluetooth mouse.

My handspring visor will not recharge on its cradle, how do i replace the rechargable battery?

I have this same problem. I thought it was the cradle so I bought a new cradle but when I place the PDA in the cradle the charging light does not go on. I can force it to light up by moving the PDA around but will not recharge even when held in place

PC/PDA "connected" yet PC won't read PDA

try syncing through bluetooth, there could be a problem with the cradle. i have had an issue very similar to yours and had to do a soft reset on my pda. then set up your device to use a blue tooth connection( you may need to buy a bluetooth dongle for your pc).

Toshiba (Audiovox) PDA Genio e550c

Always start with the simplest answer first, so start by removing any memory cards, attached devices and cables and resetting it again. If you still have the same problem check the manual for the Hard Reset procedure, it may seem you've already hard reset it by killing your battery but it's worth a try anyway when your getting this kind of issue.

Visor will Not Turn On

I have a Visor Platinum that has started doing the same.  In my case, two things have helped in the past.  (1) Mine has a built-in lithium battery pack.  The first time the problem happened -- the battery was dead -- I cleaned its contacts and where it mates into the PDA with some rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab and recharged.  (2) Second time it crashed, the problem was with one of the programs that I had installed (some freeware).  The program would cause the PDA to hang during and alarm and make it stay ON till the battery ran down too far.  Solution was to not install the add ons.  To wake the PDA the second time, I placed it on the charger for a minute, took it off and immediately tried the different resets.  Tried the entire process 10-15 times and finally managed to wake up the PDA.  Once awake, let it finish charging before you do anything.  It might prompt you to set the date/time etc, but just wait till it is done charging otherwise it will go back into its coma.

M515 green light on and dead screen

Hey, i had the same problem. My m515 stayed with the green light on for 3 days until the battery died out (and lost all my data). I keep the m515 off and without recharge for 2 more days. Then I recharge it in its craddle and it seems to be ok. Good luck

My H5450 won't charge!

When you charge up your iPaq, do you use the cradle, or do you use the AC-adapter with the little iPaq power converter that came with the iPaq? Try both, and see if it charges up your pda. Try and borrow an iPaq car-charger and see if it charges up that way (the ones that do not need the iPaq power converter). If you are lucky enough to power up the iPaq even for 2 minutes, enable USB fast charging in the SETTING -> BATTERY. Your USB-data-cable or cradle will then be able to charge it up that way...
