Battery went dead from non-use. When I attempted tostart up, it went to the Welcome Screen and then to the Align Screen, and froze after aligning. I attempted to initialize the PDA and the same thing occurs. I stops after screen alignment and eventually shuts down.

Re: Toshiba (Audiovox) PDA Genio e550c
Always start with the simplest answer first, so start by removing any memory cards, attached devices and cables and resetting it again.
If you still have the same problem check the manual for the Hard Reset procedure, it may seem you've already hard reset it by killing your battery but it's worth a try anyway when your getting this kind of issue.

This means one of the cartridges is defective, they cant align if they cant print. What i did to fix this problem is insert 2 working cartridges and get it to align properly, even if they are low on ink, then lift the cover and the cartridges will move to the center. When this happens pull the power cable out, then insert the full non functioning cartridge. Plug the power cable back in. I tried this with a color cartridge, the color cartridge was non functioning but i was able to print in black. Basically you align the cartridges and then swap them so the printer thinks they are still aligned. The color still doesnt work and it is probably a defective color cartridge.
The only thing I can think of is that the screen might be bad. Has it been hit or dropped? Are you SURE you haven't thrown it against the wall? :P Just kidding, but seriously, my dad's old Palm had a similar problem where if you tried to calibrate the screen, it would loop, and it was because the screen was old and wasn't performing correctly. Although you were pressing it in the right place, the screen wasn't reporting the locations properly, causing the thing to loop to try and get correct readings from the screen.
why mess with old non supported dead products?
why not buy 2 old smart phones, 1000x better.
ok ask at HP , they need a good laugh today.
IPAQ is dead every which way but sunday.
no service provider supports it nor MS. nor HP, but do ask.
Sounds to me like either the battery pack is defective, or the power supply is. I would go get new battery for it , Best Buy carries them, and see if that works. If you replace the battery, but it still doesn't work, then it is most likely the power supply that is faulty.
check the pins on the adaptor connector that goes into the laptop socket....
they all must align correctly....
normaly it will have three pins, even if one is bent or mis-aligned it will not work....use a small screwdriver to slighly adjust the pins to the aprox correct postion...use a mignifying glass to have a look into the pins....
After you change the battery you need to do a hard reset. This will erase all the info in your pda so you want to make sure you have it all backed up on the palm desktop To do a hard reset follow these steps:
1. Hold down the power button. 2 While holding down the power button, use the tip of the stylus and inset it into the hole in the back of your pda and gently press and release the reset button in the back of your pda. 3. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your hand held select continue. 4. When prompted follow the online directions to align the screen. After that you will want to do another hot sync. Best wishes.
