PS3 stopped working, comes on for about 3 to 4 minutes

Ok, this is most often a Heat issue, many, many of these PS3's suffer from it and there are many, many posts on what to do, however, it would no doubt be covered under warranty, and if you send it back to Sony repair, they will fix it, possibly for free, as I say complain enough, and point out that it is epidemic, as they well know, and as i said they may waive the charges, not shipping though. You see. If you do anything to it, that will invalidate the/any Warranty, so I do advise against this until, it isn't. it is ALWAYS best to obtain the latest models, with units such as this. Check, if it covered by warranty, and if NOT, then I would advise that you purchase the newest unit you can, WITH a Warranty, and go from, there using this as an expensive lesson, and if it can be repaired, it will take some time, when you get it back, sell it to offset the costs. Anyway thats what i would do. Also, just like to say, how much I personally appreciate your sacrifice in doing what you are doing in Afghanistan, I live in New Zealand, but still appreciate your efforts,so thanks again, and hope it all works out well. In the ps3 manual it does state that occasionally the ps3 does freeze because of the amount of data being processed by the unit and they advise pressing the power button for ten seconds to re-boot the unit. if it is hapening so much that regular usage is affected then the unit should be replaced.
