You don't need a new driver.
You need to CLOSE the Toshiba MK8034GSX program FIRST, then try to hibernate

I have set up the hibernation settings for when you close the lid but now it wiont come out of it when the lid is opened

Hit the space bar or enter key to wake it up. Maybe you have to pres the Power Button to wake it up.

Read the manual to see how to wake it up.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dell Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals on the site and search them on hibernation.

Below is what your manual says to get out of hibernation you have to press the Power Button (very last paragraph at bottom).

Hibernate Mode Hibernate mode conserves power by copying system data to a reserved area on the hard drive and then completely turning off the computer. When the computer exits hibernate mode, it returns to the same operating state it was in before entering hibernate mode.
notice.gif NOTICE: You cannot remove devices or undock your computer while your computer is in hibernate mode. Your computer enters hibernate mode if the battery charge level becomes critically low.
To manually enter hibernate mode:

  • Press <Fn><F1>.

or

  • Click the Start button, click Turn off computer, press and hold <Shift>, and then click Hibernate.

or

  • Depending on how you set the power management options on the Advanced tab in the Power Options Properties window, use one of the following methods to enter hibernate mode:

    • Press the power button.

    • Close the display.

    • Press <Fn><Esc>.

note.gif NOTE: Some PC Cards may not operate correctly after the computer exits hibernate mode. Remove and reinsert the card, or simply restart (reboot) your computer. To exit hibernate mode, press the power button. The computer may take a short time to exit hibernate mode. You cannot make the computer exit hibernate mode by pressing a key or touching the touch pad or track stick. For more information on hibernate mode, see the documentation that came with your operating system.

I get the error message: "The device driver for the Intel PRO/100B PCI Adapter (TX) device is preventing the machine from entering standby." Any fix?

The only fix would be to find and install an updated device-driver.
Either look on the "support" page on www.intel.com
or access http://WindowsUpdate.microsoft.com
clicking "custom" scan, and then clicking "optional hardware",
to see if Intel has posted an updated device-driver into the Windows Update system.

DELL M1530 shutdown

I doubt the nic driver is to blame but might as well visit the Dell site, enter your service tag and be sure you have all of the needed and recommended files for this device on your machine. Next, I'd ensure my power settings are the way I want and then I'd run a check with A/V and Superantispyware in safe mode. BTW, is there anything interesting in the E/V?

System Hibernation Failed

Actually, the solution (or part of it) is on Microsoft's site:

Microsoft Help and Support

The solution is related to keyboards, but I think the general suggestion to update driverss applies. Go to the HP.com site link below, when the web page loads, select your computer's operating system from the list and download the latest drivers:

Drivers and Software

See if that works and post back the results. Good luck.

Won't go into Hibernation.

Your computer would fail to hibernate if
1)if your ram size is insufficient to hibernate or etc..,

You may get this error possibly due to a incompatible driver or some kind of driver conflict. Try to download drivers from Adobe website. Or use the Update feature directly from Adobe Type manger By selecting Help-->Update.
Hope it helps..

Grydor.

S3 Savage 2000

It means the driver for your video card is not allowing the system to enter standby (power save mode). This is an information message and is not a big error unless you really need to be in standby.

You have 2 possible solutions:

1) Scour the internet looking for and updated driver. These may work: http://drivers.s3graphics.com/en/download/drivers/legacy/Savage4_394-398/84002w2ks3agplogo.zip

2) Disable system standby in windows: In control pane, select power options, then unselect the option for system standby.
