Hi there

You can not install any CD disk if you have Windows 7 then you are going to have to find the right software driver for this, there is not a lot of driver been made for the windows 7 printers yet.
They are still seling the printers with the XP drivers CD whitch is not any good for the new win 7 or Vista.

Testimonial: "Thank you Guru. Little wonder I was going round in circles! Will have to look at Lexmark site for those drivers. "

Additional drivers

I typically install drivers for the newer OS first and then the older.
Try downloading the Win7 drivers and install them on the Win7 computer. Then install the additional XP drivers.

New laptop with windows 7 won't print to Lexmark x7350. says to enable bidirectional support - but that option is grayed out.

Make sure to use the correct printer driver version for your operating system. You may need to uninstall your existing printer driver first before downloading the new driver. Go to Start menu > Programs > Lexmark 7300 Series > Tools > Uninstall. After the uninstall process, reboot pc when prompted.
When your computer turns on, go to Start menu > right-click on Computer > Properties. Check the System Type. Note: Use Vista driver in Windows 7.
Use the links below to download and install the printer driver: - Lexmark X7350 Driver for Vista/Win7 32-bit - Lexmark X7350 Driver for Vista/Win7 64-bit
Follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Can not connect my printer to new Dell laptop. Can you help? I have the install disc

I am wondering if the install disk you have is for a different operating system than what you have on your laptop. Lexmark instructs users to use the windows Vista driver for a windows 7 computer. I have included the link to the driver section for your printer on Lexmark.com. Just chose the correct operating system, 32 bit or 64 bit, and download the correct driver.

I hope that this helps.

I have installed my Lexmark X4650 under Windows 7, and although it works fine - including the wireless connection - the Ink Status doesn't feedback to the computer. It's not exactly critical, but it's...

Under Windows 7 the main problem is the 64bit to 32 bit bridge with the driver being 32bit and Win7 being 64 bit. (I assume you are using the 64 bit edition of Win7 - as this is what I have and is doing exactly the same)
After contacting Lexmark I was told they are in the process of updating their driver website pages, to include an updated driver for the X4650 for win 7 the 32 and 64 bit.
Until they release the update, it is something I have to live with too. :-)
Hope it answers your question.

I HAVE A \LEXMARK X2330 INSTALLED ON AN xp PC. I

I am assuming that the Win7 can "see" the Lexmark on the XP machine but not print.

OK, on the Win7 laptop in question:
Click Control Panel > Printers > Add Local Printer
Create New Port = Local Port
Port name is \\yourXPcomputername\Printername

Now Win7 will install a print driver to work with the shared Lexmark printer.

I cant install my lexmark 5200 <DISC IS DAMAGED

I give up. Are you saying that the printer will not connect to your PC or are you saying that the software does not match your Operating System.

In either case I need a clearer description of the failure. If it is the software, I will also need to know the Operating System you are trying to attach to. For example, WIN7 or WINXP.
