    I had the same problem. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the whole unit came back to life once I had removed the two discs that were stuck inside. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi,

For a Toshiba SDK740SU, to remove a stuck disc:
1. Remove the top and front cabinet cover;
2. once exposed, slide/move the Rack Loading (white) towards the right with a sturdy instrument such as a common screwdriver;
3. draw the tray out
Please refer to image below:
DVD PLAYER MODEL, SD-K740SU - fd91076.jpg
The only possible easy user workable reset is to unplug the unit for quite some time.

Should the above be not corrective, pls post back whether you have the 740SU or the 740SUA version.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back as requested, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kindest regards.

Note: Make sure you have placed batteries in the Wii Remote (how to).
  1. Press the Power button on the Wii console to turn it on.
  2. Open the SD Card Slot cover on the front of the Wii console. Remove the battery cover on the back of the Wii Remote you wish to sync up.
  3. Press and release the SYNC button just below the batteries on the Wii Remote; the Player LED will blink. Quickly press and release the SYNC button on the inside of the SD Card compartment on the console.
  4. When the Player LED blinking stops, the syncing is complete. The LED that is illuminated indicates the player number (1 through 4).

DVD player lost charging power/only works with adapter plugged in

If you had the player for quite some time it could be the battery. The batteries eventually get weaker and weaker and go. Like laptop. Did you notice less usage time after you charged it when it worked?If it isnt that old it could be an internal problem you may have to get checked out by manufacturer, also check if its still under warranty.

Picture keeps trying to black out

Hi I have seen this problem before, and it was the video processor. I have seen the picture fade to black, then come back, and also fade to green. The cost to repair is prohibitive unless you could find a shop that perhaps has hung on to a unit that was hit by lightning, and only has a blown power supply. The only ray of sunshine I could offer, is if you recently connected your unit to a vcr, because the effect you describe is also what appears when you try to play a dvd that is copy guarded. If your DVD player is connected to a vcr then to the television, take the VCR out of the loop, connect straight to t.v. and all will be well. Goog Luck!
