Get a variable power supply(ac to dc) that will get you 11-14 volts . You wont need a lot of amperes to run the deck.I had a buddy that just used a little car battery charger in his shop when he was jammin in there-kinda ghetto but hey it worked fine

Pioneer DEH-3300 UB

Apparently, you have no power at the 12 volt battery/memory wire at the radio harness of the vehicle. This wire is white with blue in color.
Also, based upon your description, you have connected the battery/memory wire and the accessory wire of the radio to the 12 volt accessory (switched) wire of the vehicle. This wire is white with red in color.
Check the radio/ stereo fuse of the car. You may have blown the fuse during your installation.
You have no memory at the radio because when you turn off the key, you lose all power to the radio.
Also, I mentioned the wire colors just in case you used an aftermarket radio wiring harness. Make sure that the yellow from the Pioneer unit is going to the battery power source and, the red of the Pioneer is going to the switched power source.

Head unit not fully functional

well there may be a loose connection on the board or a short in the circuitry. The first thing to do is try to reset it by disconnecting it from all power sources which could mean disconnecting your battery if needed

I have a 1998 Pioneer head unit to put in my car. the #is 1256237179. Is There anyway to get a diagram to see how to hook it up?

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -
1. Disconnect your car battery. It is vitally important to your safety that you never work on any type of electronic in your car with the battery still connected, as this puts you at risk for electrocution.
2. Remove the old stereo by taking off all the dashboard panels surrounding your stereo, sliding out your old stereo head unit, and unplugging all the wires that are connected to the head unit. Discard the old stereo.
3. Take your Pioneer car stereo head unit and plug each of the positive wires from your car speakers to the positive terminals on the head unit. Take all of the negative speaker wires and connect them to the negative terminals on the head unit.
4. Attach the stereo's black ground wire to a metal bolt or screw located near where the stereo is mounted in the dash.
5. Connect all of the ignition power wires to your Pioneer stereo.
6. Take the harness connector and plug it into your car stereo. Now plug the antenna into the back of your head unit.
7. Slide the stereo back into the dash, screw it in place, and replace the dashboard pieces you removed earlier.
8. Reconnect your car battery, turn the car on and test out your new Pioneer car stereo. Please post comments for more help or information..........

Good Luck!!

Thanks

Pioneer DEH -P7050BT Problem with Bluetooth connection using Nokia N95. Cannot establish a permanent connection. Disconnects almost immediately. Unable to download phonebook.

There is a file that needs to be downloaded to the Pioneer using the Software Update facility. You can get this file from your Pioneer dealer. After this, you will need to play with your device until you get the BT Audio to connect properly, then connect the Telephone. I spent about an hour trying this and then I was successful. My Nokia E71 now connects when I start the car on both the BT Audio and Telelphone connections without continually disconnecting.

Power has to reset with each restart

It sounds as though you may have the constant and switched power connections reversed. The yellow wire from the Pioneer head unit has to be connected to a constant power source, and the red wire has to be connected to a key-switched power source. Assuming that both are currently connected to different wires, try reversing them and see if that solves the problem. Otherwise you'll need to get a voltmeter and test the factory wires for voltage.
