Sounds like you have a bad drum... if you roll the paper in a cylinder and match up the faint spots you get the aproximate diamerter of the drum... call up lexmark support and see if they have a drum refresh option on their machine...

Hi,

This could be because of few reasons, The Ink powder is not rotating inside the drum to give you the correct output.

Remove the Toner and Shake it a bit. Try to print.

Print on left hand side of page is faded as you look to the middle and right hand side of page print is clear

Place one hand either side if printer,
Gently shake the printer left and right a few times without lifting it off the desk..

What happens is that when a laser printer is moved and is not kept level the toner will move to one side or the other, the gentle shake evens out the toner.

Magicolor 2400W - Printing Problem

check the green levers at the top of the fuser unit that have envelope icons on them.  They reduce pressure on the fuser assembly for thick stock.  It is possible that one side is up the other down, causing uneven pressure across a page.

Print fading down right hand side

I was able to fix it by taking off the top of the printer. This involved taking off 4 screws on the top of the printer. I then had to disconnect the wires going to the control panel by unhooking them from the right side. I then located a thin rectangular box which I'm assuming houses the laser. I removed this with 4 more screws and turned it over. There was a little metal flap that I moved back and below was the mirror the lasers shoot on before going onto the toner.

In the same spot where I was having fading, I noticed a lot of toner on the mirror, so I cleaned it of, put it back together, and the fading was gone.

This was after I tried a new toner and maintenance kit.

Hope this helps

Faded print on one side of page

I have a SCX-4100 Samsung, replaced the tonger cartridge, it was working fine for a few hundred sheets of printing, but after that, the left side of the page was printed very light, faded.
If I run the "Clean Drum", it will print a litter better, but still faded.
What can I do to correct this problem?
Thank you
