Yes there are two ICs in your model they are around 20.00 each for quality ICs. Cheaper ICs are available but I wouldnt recommend them as theyre most likely the inferior chineese made ICs and they fail quickly.

Hello how do i set the convergence manualy on a pioneer elite pro-710hd projection tv i dont have the remote and dont know how to bring the menue up on the tv

You MUST have the remote to perform service operations on the Elites. Look on ebay or do a google search for Pioneer 710 remote.
There is no way to manually do convergence without a remote, and no way to call up the convergence menu.

Can I use a universal remote to adjust my settings for the elite Pro 710 HD?

I doubt it, we have in our shop about five of their remotes and each only works on one or two models--bite the bullet to get another or if you have the original but it does not work, most shops can fix that for a reasonable price.

I have multiple colors on the screen of my 530hd pioneer elite TV when it warms up. When I try to adjust the convergence I am unable to move the red line far enough to converge on the blue or green line.

The convergence of your tv is defective try to replace it. You will find the convergence chip inside your tv, try to open the back cover of your tv but be sure to unplug the tv first. Try to look the large aluminum plate it is the heat sink, your convergence chip is attached to that heat sink it has a marking of stk-*** followed by a number you should remove it from the pcb using a soldering iron, and soldering pump but be very careful you might damage the pcb and may caused another fault to your unit. Or you can contact a service technician to save you from stress. Good day and best regards.

Convergence Problem

Your TV most likely has one of two possible problems.

Problem #1: Convergence Chip Failure ( common problem )

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem
  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.

Problem #2 CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Picture of a set that needs the fluid changed.

What you will need to do is replace the coolant and clean the crt. You can get a repair kit from www.TvRepairKits.com that includes replacement coolant, photos. instructions, etc.

Colors are skewed on Pioneer Pro-520HD

you can replace your the convergence chips on the convergence board. The board is to identify because it has a large heat sink. The convergence chips normally starts with STK... After you find the chip, you can buy online (ebay has a lot of listing) and costs around $10. If you know how to solder, it is very easy to do. I just replace the convergence chips on myPRO-610HD and it works perfectly.

Convergence problem

http://www.retrevo.com/search/v2/jsp/mytrevo/myTrevo.jsp?page=man

You can download the manual here. Insrtuctions for auomatic convergence are described. I copied the instructions below.

Automatic Convergence
Your HD Monitor’s picture tubes might have been disturbed during delivery or
after you moved the HD Monitor, causing the color in your HD Monitor to be
out of alignment. The colors adjust by starting auto convergence.
IMPORTANT: Auto convergence works best once the HD Monitor has
warmed up for at least an hour. If you've just unpacked your HD Monitor,
it's a good idea to repeat the Auto convergence function when the
HD Monitor's been running for at least an hour. See page 38 for more
information about Auto convergence.
1. Press OK to begin auto convergence.
2. When the auto convergence is complete, the Red center convergence menu
appears. The cross in the middle of the screen should be yellow. If it is not,
use the arrow buttons to move the red cross to overlap the green cross.
Press OK when adjustments are complete.
3. The Blue center convergence menu appears with a cyan cross in the middle
of the screen. If it is not, use the arrow

My HD TV is no longer showing a clear picture

Sure sounds like the CRT fluid is cloudy and needs to be replaced.
