you are having a problem with the power supply or shutdown circuitry.do you have any troubleshooting skills? i would check horiontal output and regulator transistors first.

If the light is flashing on the front of the set after you turn on the power, its most likly a sweep power supply problem. if the set is dead then its in the standby or main power supply. If your hubby is a tech then he should have No problem fixing this puppy. if he is not, a TV set is not a place to be experimenting around inside of, as this is a solid state set, and has no user replaceable parts inside. Its dangerous to work on and unless you wantt to possibly become a widow?? Please seek out a pro to assist you in this repair.
