When i turn on my PS3 part of the screen is cut off, like my PS3 thinks my TV is bigger than it is, i cannot find anything in the video or output settings, it there anything i might have missed? I also...

First things first what is the make and model of your television? Second things second, if it is a flt screen like i presume everyone has... Are you using an hdmi cord or vga cables?

I'd say adust your output settings on your Ps3. Which is most likely the problem.
For instance instead of using 1080p use the 720p display. your display settings are probably set too high.

On ps3, when switched on, says hard drive corrupted, will restore. after a while trying to restore, same thing comes up again.

  • Turn off the PS3 console, if it isn't already.Press and hold the power button on the console as it powers on, and then powers off again.Press and hold the power button a second time until you hear two consecutive beeps. If your console powers down before you hear the second beep, try holding down the power button again. It should work during the second cycle.Connect your controller to the console with the USB cable when prompted to do so.Turn on the controller. You will now have access to the PS3 recovery menu.Select option three which states "Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files." This option will identify and correct and corrupt files. Your PS3 should now be fixed. If this option doesn't fix your problems, you'll want to do a complete system restore and follow the next step.Turn off the PS3 console by holding down the power button.Press and hold the power button on the console as it powers on, and then powers off again.Press and hold the power button a second time until you hear two consecutive beeps. If your console powers down before you hear the second beep, try holding down the power button again. It should work during the second cycle.Select option 5 which states "Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch." Be aware that performing a complete system restore will cause all data on the hard drive to be lost. This option restores the PS3 back to its original factory condition.

We have a ps3 60gb, and all that comes up on the screen is the wavy lines that is the backdrop for the homescreen. now we did the system reset and now when i turn the ps3 on nothing happens, it just look...

If your PS3 has been restored and the green power light is staying on after you turn it on it could possi bly be the video resolution. If you have been using the PS3 on HDMI you may need to reset it back to standard definition. Do this by holding down the power button for 5 seconds. If that doesnt help try going into the restore menu and "Restore PS£ system" again. If that fails too, download the latest PS3 update and put it onto a USB stick. Using the PS3's recovery menu again, select System update. It will then continue to update from the USB stick. I really hope this helps you out.

Playstation 3 (PS3) Console: i had a power cut whilst playing ps3 , now it wont...

First thing to try is a video reset.

While the PS3 if off (red light solid) hold down the power button until you hear the SECOND beep, quickly release.

Let me know if this works, otherwise we'll try step 2.

PS3 freezes 2 seconds after i cut it on

Sounds like there is a problem with your internal fan. It is most likely not able to cool down if the fan isn't working right so it is overheating and shutting off. You need to take it to SONY to have it looked at.
