Take the hose off, they usually are just held on with a hose clamp. If they are the spring type hose clamp getting them off is no problem, getting them back on can be unteresting. Take the hose and strecth it out striaght and run water through it like with a garden hose. You may have to try both ends a few times to get the water started through it. When you have the hose clean then reinstall it.

Hi,
You may be able to use commercial clog cleaners...but before you go to that expense (and environmentally damaging option) try the flushing with hot water and/or using some baking soda and vinegar.

I have a smart drum lg.what does IE stand for

IE means inlet error. The washer did not detect the normal amount of water flowing into the machine in the expected time.

If no water enters the drum, check if the shut-off valves were opened. If a small amount of water flows into the washer, check the water pressure to the washer and the inlet hoses and the debris filters in some hoses/washers. (Filters can clog. Anti-flood hoses can limit the water flow through them when they start to fail.) To check this, grab a bucket. Turn off the shut-off valves and take the hoses off the back of the washer. Drain the hoses into the bucket. Check the filter at the inlet valve on the washer. Before replacing the hoses, test the water flow by opening the shut-off valves one at a time. (Turn off the valves and remove the hoses from the shut-off valves. Check for debris in a filter there.) When you replace the hoses, make sure that they are straight and do not have any sharp twists or bends in them. If you hear the water flow and then drain out, make sure that the drain hose isn't positioned below the normal fill level of the washer.

You can also get this message if there is a problem with the pressure switch that determines how much water is in the drum. Frequently the problem is dirt clogging the air tube. This debris might move out of the air tube if you blow into it. Other possible causes are that the inlet valve is not be opening, bad wiring between the pressure switch or inlet valve and the control board or the electronic control board is faulty. Faulty parts will need to be replaced.

Please add a comment with the model number of the LG smart drum, if you'd like me to search for the parts diagram for your unit. If the unit is under warranty, contact LG. I hope this helps.

Water will not drain through connected drain hose

The problem you're experiencing can be caused bu 2 things: The drain hose is clogged or to long or the inner drain tubing to the hose connection is clogged.

The drain hose clog is is easy to solve. However, the inner tubing clog takes a little more effort.

First turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Disconnect the drain hose. Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connector hole and inner tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow.Reconnect the drain hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose end for water flow. be patient as it may take 5 to 10 minutes to start flowing.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

Hope this helps you to solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

MY AMANA WASHER WILL NOT DRAIN

HI, check the following to address this issue.

1. Clogged drain line or water pump
Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).

2. Water Pump
If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.

3. Drain Filter
Check the drain filter for clogs as well. This filter can become clogged overtime, preventing the free flow to exit the drain tube. It is located inside the unit, mounted on the pump housing.

**The most common issue will be an obstructed hose or, line

NOTE-If the hoses filter, and pump check out ok, this will confirm that there is a serious within the actual control sector(Timer module or control board). It should be replaced i this case.

LG WM2010CW filter drain no draining

In all likelihood the rubber drain hose is clogged. I had the same problem with my LG front loader. The hose was clogged with sand and dirt almost the entire length of the hose. The following solution is far simpler than taking the dryer apart to clear the drain hose. Besides I figure this same thing could keep reoccurring with all the sand and dirt we get in our clothes here in East Texas.

I purchased about 4 feet of 3/16 inch OD vinyl tubing and adapted it to fit on the end of a garden hose. The adapter gizmo included a valve so I could control the water flow and not give myself a bath. A picture of the gizmo is included below. Make sure that when you connect the water hose to the faucet that the faucet valve is just slightly opened and that the gizmo valve is closed. Using the gizmo is straight forward. First remove the drain filter and than insert the vinyl tubing in the end of the rubber drain hose and slowly open the valve on the gizmo. Make sure you have a large pan or bucket underneath the drain hose to catch the debris and water. Slowly advance the tubing up inside the hose until it won’t go any further. By this time water will also be running out of the drain filter cavity which will indicate the clog has been removed. Continue back flushing for a few more seconds to assure all the debris has been cleared, than clean up and you’re finished.

Make sure that drain hose and drain filter are not bent or clogged. In case of there are objects in the drain filter, It might drain to slow or not at all. HOW TO CLEAN THE DRAIN FILTER 1. Allow the washer to cool down before cleaning the drain pump filter. 2. Open the lower cover cap with a tool such as coin. 3. At this time use a catch pan to prevent water from flowing onto the floor. Unplug the drain plug, allowing the water to flow out. When water does not flow any more, turn the pump filter open to the left. 4. Remove any foreign objects from the pump filter. After cleaning, turn the pump filter clockwise and insert the drain plug to the original place. Close the lower cover cap. If the drain filter is not clogged, you will need to call LG Customer Service at 800-243-0000.
