I do not know where the manual feed is for this machine. It only has paper on the inside.

  • Anonymous Feb 06, 2008

The printer reads Load Mpf Letter Plain. I have done all steps suggested.

  • rudyduke Mar 13, 2008

My 300cn says "Load MPF Letter" when I try to print -- although I have paper loaded in the tray. I have tried resetting everything and it has printed intermittently, but now it doesn't print at all. I have had this problems for several months and haven't used the printer in along time. I use Vista and downloaded the latest driver from 10/04/07.

ok, so you don't have the optinal tray then?

this is directly from the manual....

Make sure the size and type settings for the multipurpose feeder are set to the correct value for the print media you have loaded. (this means, envelope, letter, legal...)

Select print media source, size, and type in your software program and select the print media size and type on the printer operator panel.

I just fixed this moments ago with the following solution. The problem was my configuration on the printer itself, not what I had in my Print menu on the computer. What you need to do is to change the media type the printer sees. I don't know how it got changed to begin with but apparently, the printer thought it had a different type of media than what was actually there. That's why the message came up, since the computer was being told to print a document of an 8 1/2 X 11 size and the Printer is thinking it has something different.

To fix the probem, press the menu button in the front of the computer. You will see the first in a list of menus pop up in the display. Then press the bottom button under the big round button just once until you see the display read "Tray settings." Now press the arrow to the right to select "Paper type." Play around until you get to fix the settings to the type of paper you have. That solved it for me.

I found a little solution for this problem, but i don't know if it works for you. First of all, i refeed the paper into my tray , then i selected the media source to free size regardless what you want to print for. I hope this will help

When we send any file to print it is giving load manual feeder error

In most cases if the printer is asking for an unexpected manual feed it is because the paper tray is not set to the right paper size or type. To set the paper size to the most common size and type (letter size plain paper) use the following instructions.

1. Press the Menu button.
2. Press the right arrow key until Paper Menu then press Check Mark.
3. Press the right arrow key until Size/Type then press Check Mark.
4. Press the right arrow key until Tray 1 then press Check Mark.
5. Press the right or left arrow key until Letter then press Check Mark.
6. Press the right or left arrow key until Plain then press Check Mark.
7. Press the back button until Ready is displayed.

This will set up your printer for plain letter paper and should relieve the manual feed error unless your computer is sending other paper size/type settings.

My LaserJet4250n Printer keeps printing a page recurrently. Except the former job is cancelled Manually, it prints the previous instead of the currently sent job. Moreover,it displays the following...

I think what is happening is when you get the error, the printer automaticaly reprints the page it was on when it got an error condition that makes it think it didn't print the page correctly. The clearing paper path message comes up after it thinks it had a jam. Displaying load plain paper could be because either the printer is not configed for the correct type of paper you have in the tray you are trying to prin form(push the green check button, arrow downt to paper handling and see what your trays are set for.) Also there is a blue switch on the tay(looking for front of tray it will be on the right hand side of tray rail) the switch says standard or custom. The switch should be in the standard position.
Are you getting any errors or jams, if so, tell me what they are.

Tray output

You should configure TRAY 1 as Legal only.
and Tray 2 as plain letter.

Specially when you specify from what tray/paper type to print.

This can be easily configured from the Printer Properties within the Printers and Faxes section of the Control Panel.

Good luck!

Tray 1- load plain letter

Linda,

On printer check media/paper type tray 2 or 3 is plain and tray 2/3 is set for letter paper size too, via printer control panel. Also check under paper handling other options for tray 1, also on tray 2 and 3, I think there is a blue little round switch on left should be set as letter not custom.

Some paper types cannot be feed from anywhere else but tray1/bypass ie labels/laminate/card stock.

Check print driver on pc has tray 3 option installed and is not set as default to print to manual bypass/tray 1

light flashing cause printer wants paper type/size that it "thinks" it hasn't got in tray 2/3

If that dont cover it...post back
