This comment continues to display even after shutting off the computer. Currently with the message the printer will not print.
Can you help?
Thanks!
Michelle
When printing, select the cassete tray. it is asking to load paper on the manual tray on the front, so it keeps asking until you put paper there
hope this helps
thanks for your rating
ok, so you don't have the optinal tray then?
this is directly from the manual....
Make sure the size and type settings for the multipurpose feeder are set to the correct value for the print media you have loaded. (this means, envelope, letter, legal...)
Select print media source, size, and type in your software program and select the print media size and type on the printer operator panel.

I just fixed this moments ago with the following solution. The problem was my configuration on the printer itself, not what I had in my Print menu on the computer. What you need to do is to change the media type the printer sees. I don't know how it got changed to begin with but apparently, the printer thought it had a different type of media than what was actually there. That's why the message came up, since the computer was being told to print a document of an 8 1/2 X 11 size and the Printer is thinking it has something different.
To fix the probem, press the menu button in the front of the computer. You will see the first in a list of menus pop up in the display. Then press the bottom button under the big round button just once until you see the display read "Tray settings." Now press the arrow to the right to select "Paper type." Play around until you get to fix the settings to the type of paper you have. That solved it for me.
I found a little solution for this problem, but i don't know if it works for you. First of all, i refeed the paper into my tray , then i selected the media source to free size regardless what you want to print for. I hope this will help
Hello! Thank you for using FixYa.
Using the printer control panel 1.

3. Press the arrow buttons until "Align Cartridges" appears, and then press "."
4. An alignment page prints.
Using Windows
1. Load plain Letter-size paper.
2. Do one of the following:
??¢ In Windows Vista, click the round, Windows symbol.
??¢ In Windows XP and earlier, click "Start".
3. Click "All Programs" or "Programs", and then select the printer program folder from the list.

I do not know where the manual feed is for this machine. It only has paper on the inside.
The printer reads Load Mpf Letter Plain. I have done all steps suggested.
My 300cn says "Load MPF Letter" when I try to print -- although I have paper loaded in the tray. I have tried resetting everything and it has printed intermittently, but now it doesn't print at all. I have had this problems for several months and haven't used the printer in along time. I use Vista and downloaded the latest driver from 10/04/07.
I have the Dell 3000cn. It has the message Load MPF
Letter Plain 1
Nothing has been done different this message is just now appearing and will not print.

i've changed the configuration, restarted the printer, unplugged it....it sounds like it's going to start up and then it displays the error, "Load MPF"...what do I do now???
