My printer is saying refer to documentation, there's a fault with the righ cartridge, help?

You mean its saying you have a "faulty" right cartridge?

what that means is that the cartridge on your right has a problem and needs to be replaced or repositioned. You can try two things to fix this problem.

You can try removing it and replacing it to see if its just not snapped into the printer correctly. then try cleaning the print nozzle or alligning the cartridges to see if that stops it. To clean the print nozzle or align the cartridges, click on "menu" on the printers keyboard and then use the arrows to scroll until you find "maintenance" and then press "enter" or "ok". Continue scrolling until you find the "clean print nozzle" feature and then press "ok" or "enter". Follow the prompts and try cleaning a couple of times in a row.

If this does not correct the error. Replace the cartridge.

Hp photosmart c5280 all-in-one printer........the color ink cartridge will not allign

I had a similar issue, I called HP Support and they had me change out the ink, re-run the alignment, restart, change out the paper, run the alignment again. They had me try everything you could imagine. But, in the end; there was absolutely nothing that would fix it. They said that pulling paper jams from the printer among other things (if not done properly) can permanently damage the print head to where the alignment can no longer correct it. Luckily, while it took forever, the printer was under warranty...I had to do a warranty repair, but the new printer had no issues.

How do I install an ink cartridge? HP photosmart c5280 All in one

To replace the print cartridges Perform the following steps to replace the print cartridges:
  1. Make sure the HP All-in-One is on. CAUTION: If the HP All-in-One is off when you open the print cartridge door to access the print cartridges, the HP All-in-One will not release the cartridges for changing. The HP All-in-One can get damaged if the print cartridges are not docked safely when trying to remove them.
  2. Open the print cartridge door. The print carriage moves to the far right side of the HP All-in-One. Figure 1: Opening the print cartridge door c00956268.gif
