My ps3 turns on but only the theme background appears it turns on and it says ps3,that goes away and when the icons should be coming up,they dont! help please!!

That depends on if you are using the new "Theme" b display or the old standard display. If using the new "Theme based display you just hover over the help icon (It looks like a little gear on the right hand side of your yahoo page when you are signed in.) a menu will appear and then select themes. Then in the resulting pop-up window you can choose any of the available background images to use.
If you are using the old standard yahoo mail configuration There is really no setting for the background color in yahoo mail and you will have to choose the default background color in your browser and that depends on what browser you are using. If you let me know what browser you are using I can give you instructions on how to change the background color in most of the different browsers. Hope this helps.

i have the same problem but now it doesnt even get to the sny entertainment part itjust freezes

Sounds like your ps3 needs to be reformatted or to a point its having a problem reading your hard-drive. Reseat the hard-drive and try again, if that doesnt work it could be that your unit has gotten a virus that is going around on the PSN, and the unit might need to be formatted.

Hi, this sounds like a problem with your hard drive booting up. This seems to happen alot with the PS3s. Try taking the hard drive out and putting it in another PS3 and see if it does the same thing. If it does then your hard drive is damaged and needs replaced.

you can try doing this cuz i had the same problem till i did this...Access the PS3 recovery menu
1. Turn off Playstation®3.
2. Hold The power button down; The system will turn on and turn off once again.
3. Once the System has been shutdown, re-press you finger until you hear 2 consecutive beeps
4. When you hear the 2 beeps take finger off power button.
5. You will be promted to plug in your controller via usb and then hit the PS button
6. The Recovery menu will pop up.
..I did this and i got my ps3 Back !! :)

yup laser is done. direct replacement part # is KEM-400AAA if sent to sony the flat rate will be around 180. sucks i know. i sent mine in but it comes back with a little warranty. repairing yourself is pretty hard ive done it. hope that helps.

Call Sony ASAP. A hand full of people have had a problem with update 2.40 and they took it off of the network. They will fix you up. Hope this helps. Good luck.

It sounds like a system file error due to trying to hack background, so check the CSS template and the theme.css to see if they are present in the theme folder. You will have to take hdd out and run on a pc to do this, you can find how to remove hdd by looking on search engine. If you get a 403 error, that means you are not allowed access. You will have to delete and reload the file from a known working ps3 hdd.
